I stayed here for one night on a business trip to Ulverston. It is a little way out of the centre but only 10 minute walk (or a cheap taxi ride). The room was a large double room with a sofa (this had seen better days!), but was clean as was the en suite. Other reviews have commented on the... More

A friend and I happened on this hotel while on a motorcycle weekend tour of the Lake District. I'm glad we did, you will not find a more friendly helpful hotel anywhere. Laura and her Mum were great, and the breakfast was gorgeous. Beds were clean and comfortable

If you're looking for a shiny, new, platinum-plated hotel ... keep driving. But if you want a clean, friendly, family-run place where people seem to care about making your stay the best it can possibly be ... then pull into Hill Foot. The amazing Laura is a true star. And the breakfast is a phenomenal start to the day.Good luck... More

This hotel had a very warm feel to it . It is a family run hotel and on arrival we were made to feel at home and welcome . The room was lovely, clean and tidy and a lovely big window which made the room lovely and cool considering it was over 25 degrees whilest on our stay . Plenty... More

I couldn't of found a more perfect place to stay for the weekend, we didn't want to leave!! The room was very big, lovely furniture. Felt more like a room then a hotel! The bathroom was to a very high standard. Perfect amount of freebies, even extras in the hall way. The woman who greeted us from start to finish... More

My family and I were visiting the South Lakes Animal Park and decided to make a night and day of the trip. We chose this hotel due to its rating on TA and agree with both the good and the bad in some of the other reviews. The staff - amazing, very helpful and friendly The location - good access... More

This is definitely not a 3 star hotel as advertised. It is just an over-priced B&B with limited facilities. There is no phone, radio or tissues in the rooms, and there is a very small TV with limited channels and a plate of tea bags open to the elements. Room lighting left a lot to be desired. However, there was... More

I don't often write reviews - good or bad. I believe good value for money is a right, and should not be considered an unexpected surprise even in this day and age. That said, I will make an exception for the Hillfoot Hotel. We were greeted at the front door by a very polite and charming young woman who took... More

Stayed one night. Hotel very tired but staff very friendly! No toiletries in room and no hair dryer. When advised staff on booking out I was told that toiletries were left out on landing (I wish I had been told at time of arrival) and that the hairdryer had probably been stolen. Breakfast was good but having paid nearly £70... More

A wonderful stay at the Hill Foot Hotel over Easter. Really friendly, family run hotel. We were made to feel extremely welcome. Lots of information shared regarding things to do in the area from the owner. Suggested walks mapped out for us - the Hotel is close to start of the Cumbrian Way which is handy. Visited the Manjushri Kadampa... More
