5 of us went for Sunday Lunch and there was only one couple in the restaurant. The table we were given hadn't been cleaned (which was probably from the night before!). I was going to order drinks from the bar but the barman said he would come over. He never came until all 5 people arrived so 3 of us... More

Stayed two nights before commencing the C2C as very close to station. Room and bathroom needed some attention and was not very clean. Room over the front door very noisy and curtains were falling off the track. Ate dinner and breakfast and the food was of a poor quality and lacked flavour.

We've used The Queens for many years while staying in St Bees. In this time we've seen managers/owners come and go. We've visited when the business was closed. The last few times we've used it, it was poor. The quality of food was at best "average pub grub" (and somewhat overpriced) and the premises very tired. I hope someone eventually... More

As a frequent visitor to St Bees, I love the Queens, the atmosphere, beer garden and staff are brilliant. But I visited recently with some friends for Sunday Lunch and what an absolute disappointment. There were 2 choices of meat (beef/Lamb) when the meals arrived they looked a bit sparse on the plate and drowning in gravy. The meat was... More

This was the night prior to our first C2C and we wanted to stay a little further away from Whitehaven. It was a good choice, our bikes were safely stored away by staff who could not be more helpful. Our room was very comfortable and had everything needed. We chose to eat in the restaurant and found the food extremely... More

Queens Hotel St Bees 31.03.2014 £70 for a double ensuite B&B. Difficulty parking close to the hotel as it is on the Main Street through the village. Parked on street a short walk away. Nice friendly staff at all stages. Our room, number 11, was on the front, above the front door of the hotel. As we struggled to turn... More

I recently stayed with my partner in the hotel and found that the room we were in was in bad need of being redecorated and was not as clean as I thought it should have been. There was dust on the mirrors, the paint was peeling and there was dirt marks in places on the walls. The meal that we... More

We have just returned from a two night visit and would like to express our gratitude to all at the Queen's for making our stay so pleasant. The room was quiet, spacious and comfortable and the food was excellent. We will certainly stay again.

I've visited this pub many times and always make a point of going when in the WesternLakes. These guys do the best Sunday Roast in the area. Cute little pub setting. Very friendly staff and nice selection of local Jennings ales.
