The internal appearance of the Hotel is very good - modern and welcoming. I was eating with my daughter, son-in-law & their two children, ages 15 month & 4 years. Both children are very well behaved when eating in restaurants. The first night a foreign visitor asked my grandson not to be noisy although he was only listening quietly to... More

This is our second visit to this hotel and it's very good, beautiful location with lots to do in the area. It's a little understaffed, particularly in the morning where there a struggle to keep on top of breakfast service and manning the front desk but this is the only criticism.

8 of us stayed at the Pennington as our friend was getting married at the castle. Only 5 mins away in taxi. Reception staff so welcoming and friendly. Beautiful room with sea view. Spotless. Breakfast was waitress service - everything cooked from fresh - absolutely delicious - couldn't eat it all! Staff throughout the hotel were excellent - the service... More

This was an absolutely delightful meal - I had the lamb mains (highly recommended) and my wife had the mixed grill. Sadly, there is a lack of decoration - only prints by a local artist to lighten the sterility. Add this touch and here would be a most charming restaurant experience, but I stress that the food was top-notch.

Stayed here for three nights. The hotel is in a lovely position right near the estuary with walks all around. The staff were lovely and friendly, our room was clean and the wet room was good - could be great with a couple of additions; the food was lovely - be aware the portions are Cumbria sized = large, there... My mum and I have just gotten home from a three night stay at the Pennington. Having used the hotel many times before, this visit was of the usual high quality we've become accustomed with in Ravenglass. Check-in is always swift and staff are welcoming and accommodating with all requests. The rooms are all beautiful, comfy beds and modern bathrooms,... More

Stayed here for 2 nights and came back yesterday. Had a great time, we were in room 5 which had plenty of space for a family of 3. The staff at the hotel were really friendly. Breakfasts were really good with plenty of choice. We didn't eat an evening meal at the hotel as we arrived late on the first... More

The Pennington is a lovely, immaculately clean boutique hotel that is perfectly located for exploring the Cumbria countryside. The staff are friendly, the rooms of a reasonable size and the beds, whilst not being the most comfortable I've slept in - are adequate. The breakfasts are good (scrambled eggs with do try the smoked salmon) although the lamb broth I... More

We had booked a weekend stay at the Pennington for the two of us, two of the kids & the dog. I stay in the area often with work & have always found the hotel good but this was the first time we had all stayed there & for pleasure. I was a fabulous treat. The two rooms arranged for us... More

We chose this hotel on recommendation from a friend. The accommodation was good, but we had an issue with the heating. Eventually this was resolved and after that the staff were very helpful and attentive! We strolled along to the Inn at Ravenglass which is owned by the same family, to book for dinner, they were extremely busy but Lorna... More
