we stayed at the Cross keys midweek, Tuesday to Friday.the location of the Hotel makes exploring the Lakes and the Yorkshire dales very easy. The Hotel itself as other reviewers have said is clean and tidy and the staff are very attentive.Breakfasts were excellent and we ate in the bar each evening and the meals were good and reasonably priced.... The Cross Keys is built on the site of previous inns in Milnthorpe, by the South Cumbria coast. It is a very pleasant hotel, with good rooms and good food at very reasonable prices. A popular bar, which is the easily the best of the 3 pubs in this small town, with good real ales and choice of spirits. The... More

Stayed at The Cross Keys on a bank holiday weekend and so were booked for 2 nights. Quick and simple check in. Stayed in a family room which was spacious with a large bathroom and very clean. TV and the usual tea making facilities. As the weather was bad we spent a lot of time in the bar which again... More

Stayed for Friday and Saturday nights at the Cross Keys Hotel over the Easter weekend and enjoyed our stay with them. The staff were very friendly and we were shown our room immediately even though the bar was very busy as there was football on the television. The room was very clean and spacious. and the tea making facility a... More

Ok value, nice bar, but the food on the main menu is appalling. Bap for Burger wasn't defrosted properly, Salad had seen better days probably about a week ago, and Other main was swimming in gravy to hide the appalling contents. It's a shame because the breakfast was good in the morning. Room was average for £70 and the shower... More

Picked hotel based purely on proximity to Kendal with available beds. It was clean and pleasant, Staff were all curteous and price was fair (£65 for double with B&B). So no complaints, but wasn't to my personnal taste in terms of decor etc. Not really a critism of the hotel, just a statement of my preferences. Would happily stay again,... More

Stopped here for 3 nights during the October half term. We had booked one of the family rooms which was clean, comfortable and although situated over the bar area was quiet and just perfect accommodation for our short and very last minute break. Unlike most hotels the beds were extremely comfortable and the beds for the children were proper beds... More

Was really happy with my stay here over the weekend. The room was very cosy and comfortable and had everything you could possibly want - comfy bed, desk, tea/coffee and kettle, nice hot shower, spacious environment, an amazing tasty breakfast, and the option to order bar food and drinks and consume them in your room. The hotel is very easy... More

Friendly welcome on arrival and a lovely spacious room that was clean, quiet and very comfortable. Bar meals were excellent quality and very good value for money. The atmosphere in the bar was good and we were made to feel very welcome, the staff made everything easy for us. Breakfast was cooked to order, good selection and we didn't have... More
