Had a short stay in the cottage, a self contained two bed, lounge, kitchen and bathroom (bath and shower) self catering part of the overall building. All very clean and had cooker, microwave and fridge so you could prepare meals. However, the price included full breakfast which was very good and the hotel serves decent quality pub meals in the... Stayed at the Cross Keys on our way to/from Portsmouth. Hotel room is clean and pleasant, shower could be slightly more powerful. Stayed in Room 1 which is not much good if you want the window open as the contents of the window box will be in there before you can blink. Breakfast was lovely. Good value all in all,... More

The hotel is in a good location not for from Kendal and the South Lakes. The room double room was pleasant and featured a good size bed, wardrobe, dressing table and TV. We were, however, disappointed to find that the ensuite did not feature a bath tub, as shown in some of pictures of the ensuite double rooms in the... More

Stayed here with some motor biking friends. 4 of us stayed in the attached cottage that the owner rents out on a self catering basis. It is not a bad little cottage with the entrance to it in the rear beer garden of the pub. There is a kitchen with cooker, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster and all cooking utensils. We... More

room was spacious and clean, meals were very nice, good home cooked food. Didn't find the service was very friendly. The family room we were given was directly above an outdoor seating area. As the room was very hot, we had to have the window open. However the noise and the smoke from the area below was ridiculous with having... More

Pleasant clean pub/hotel. Good range of beers, TV sport on tap. Comfortable pub, good staff. Food is good value, simple food but not bad at all. One of the better places in the area and good place to stop in after a hard days walking. Locals are friendly as well to boot

I was given a night B&B by a family member for myself and a friend and had a great night. The room was wonderful, a double bed plus a single bed. Room was lovely and warm and spacious. Food was great and breakfast was the best. Would recommend to any one who fancies a night away in cumbria ,,

Good car park, well stocked bar with ales and a scrumpy cider. Quick service from the bar, simple pub grub. Good value. Rooms clean and tidy. WIFI free to residents otherwise only £2. Staff friendly and willing to help.

We (family of 3) arrived late in the evening following a 5 hour journey. The staff were ready and waiting for us and quickly showed us to our room. 1 double and 2 singles in our room along with a big bathroom. Decoration is a little chinsey but this fits perfectly in the hotel and it's surroundings. Beds were comfy.... More
