We (2 adults and 2 children aged 15 and 11) arrived and, from the start, all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We took a lovely walk around for an hour or two before dinner. The rooms were cosy, clean, and welcoming. We ate in their restaurant that night and it was absolutely delicious! Better than any restaurant we... More

We stayed here for three nights while ticking off a few more Wainwrights in the south of the Lake District. We arrived in the middle of a heat wave so those first couple of drinks sitting in the garden were so welcome .... And things got even better once we checked on. Our room was cool and welcoming and the... More

Excellent food and service. We arrived with our two young (6 & 7 years old) near to closing time to a fairly busy restaurant after a day in the hills and the staff did not bat an eyelid in our walking attire. Food was delicious and plenty of it - we actually decided to split the children's portion and pleased... More

I have twice in the last few months had an evening meal here with friends. Although the food was quite good I was most disappointed with the actual amount we were served with. The sausage and 10 chips I had cost me £13.99 which I feel is outrageously expensive. My friends were all served small portions at a similar price... More

FANTASTIC VALUE with a VERY WARM WELCOME and MUCH BETTER standard of food than was expected. This was by far and away the BEST overall venue from the six places stayed at along the Cumbria Way walk. VERY GOOD VALUE for Money and will DEFINITELY be using the venue again.

Stayed at the Three Shires only last week and came across it after spending hours looking over dozens of bland, run of the mill B&B's and guest houses in The Lakes. Places that think making a big deal of offering tea/coffee making in the rooms is a selling feature. The first thing to mention is the location, tucked away in... More

We love staying here, we always get a warm welcome from the staff and Simon the chef always cooks us beautiful food. A great place to stay if you want peace, good service, excellent food, great beer and a good base for walking in the beautiful Langdales.

Our first visit, but came highly recommended. Reception very welcoming and we had a room with excellent views out over the fells. Clean with a very comfortable bed. Staff could not have been more helpful; drying our very wet clothes after a days walking in the rain! Evening meals were very well presented with a good range of choices, tasty... More

This is not my first stay at Three Shires Inn but it remains a constant favorite and one that I am delighted to share with my Curious Travelers. Our three night Bank Holiday stay this May reminded me of all the reasons I love the family runThree Shires Inn. Breakfasts and Dinners are the best -try the mushroom risotto -... More

We have stayed here many times over the last 10 years. It never disappoints us the inn is family run, the bedrooms are comfortable and bathrooms spotless. The restaurant and bar offer fresh well cooked meals all very tasty. But the real reason we go back is the ideal location in Little Langdale you can walk from the door into... More
