This is a working sheep farm where the wife runs the B & B. Rooms were newer than I expected and the bathroom was down the hall but it was clean and available when needed since they only let 5 rooms. We had dinner on the farm and we all had roasted chicken, a salad and plenty of vegetables. One... More

Lovely welcome from the owners. A working sheep farm with wonderful views of the fells from the bedrooms. Very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable rooms. Shared bathroom but clean, lots of hot water. Owners readily welcome hikers and cyclists (on coast to coast route) and have great knowledge about the local fells and the coast to coast route. The English... More

Very welcoming people at the reception, that make us feel confortable. Wonderful view of the surrounding mountains from the room window. A very nice restaurant 10 minutes walking from the farm and town center of Patterdale at 15 min. Very good prices!

Stayed here a few years ago when we were doing the Coast to Coast walk, and although it is an extra mile and a bit off the route, the welcome we got from Bev more than made up for the extra walk. We arrived dripping wet and she just said "dump all your wet things, here's the shower, here's your... More

Would stay here again without a doubt: it's a working farm so be prepared for the farm dogs to greet you! Room was lovely - warm, quiet and nicely decorated. Bev was a gem: she spent lots of time giving us advice on how to avoid back-tracking on the route and how not to get lost in the thick fog... More

Warm welcome and place to put our wet things. Bev Kindly dried our clothes which were ready when we returned from our dinner. Small twin room but adequate with shared bathroom and good shower. We only had light breakfast so can't comment on cooked breakfast. Helpful and interesting advice on where to walk and the sheep farm they run.

My wife and I stayed here with two other couples as part of our Coast To Coast walk. It was one of the best “value for money” places we stayed on the whole walk. At only £25 per person B&B (plus an additional £13.50 if you want a full dinner) it really was top value. Greenbank Farm is a bit... More

We were made to feel exceptionally welcome at Greenbank Farm. This is a working farm, with farm animals and (in our case) puppies to admire! A very peaceful and quiet location, with superb mountain views in every direction, and where time seems to stand still. We stopped here whilst on the Coast to Coast walk, and felt very relaxed and... Our group of 10 stayed here on our Coast to Coast walk in May 2014. A very lovely and relaxing place to stay. It is a little drive from the town on Patterdale (guess about 2 km) but we had a vehicle, so not a worry. We feed the baby lambs and were able to walk around the farm at... More

I stayed one night here on the Coast to Coast walk. I had the place to myself. The scenery is absolutely lovely. The stay was very adequate. Breakfast was very good in the morning. A bit of a hike from Patterdale town, but not bad. Bev was a great host. Plus very cute dogs!
