We had our wedding day at this wonderful venue, the whole day was perfect from start to finish. Ian and the team were amazing and nothing was to much trouble. The setting and the views are stunning and make a fantastic intimate place to say I do, we would highly recommend it. Thanks ian and crew for making our day... More

The place is a bit shabby (signs indicate that renovation is coming so they are aware) but the overall convenience and friendliness make up for this. I heartily recommend it for Coast to Coast walkers. The owner is a hiker himself so understands exactly what is needed. The bar is a fun place to relax with other hikers and the... More

I have been doing my job for 15 years now and judging from the reviews on here and our return customers, I think my team are pretty good - especially when we get it wrong. I always think that a business can be judged on how the management correct mistakes. In this case, I will not dignify your review with... More

This is a wonderful and historic (favourite of Wainwright) B&B, run by the very helpful Ian who as other reviewers have mentioned knows the walk very well and has excellent advice to offer; also Old Water View's own delicious beer in a very welcoming bar! The rooms are comfortable, and if you are lucky you'll get Wainwright's. Food seemed to... More

We've stayed here many years ago before the bar and restaurant were installed. The room was lovely with an amazing view and separate spacious bathroom. The food is lovely and very reasonably priced. The bar is cozy and well stocked. The beer garden will be heaven in the nice weather, unfortunately we didn't have that. Ian is friendly, welcoming and... More

Ian was really helpful in giving us good tips to explore the region. Kitchen was good. Rooms were clean. You can do great walks from here like climbing helvellyn, Aira Force, Newlands Horseshoe Walk, etc

This had to be one of the best B&B's we stayed at on the C2C. Very welcoming staff, great rooms and a fantastic menu. By far one of the best meals we had over the 14 days. Great cats too, really reminded us of the four we had left at home, two thumbs up to Ian and his staff, thanks.

My partner and I were bought a voucher for a night away here and as kirkstone pass and keswick hold sentimental memories to us we were excited to go. Ian was nothing but lovely and extremely helpful from booking to checking out. The hotel has a lovely feel as soon as you step in the door and are greeting by... More
