dont go into room seven disgustingly filthy side window inside had cobwebs, curtain could have walked out on its own. The so called description of 'overlooking lake' is a small gap between the trees, there was no mentionof the busy road directly in front of the so called 'overlooking lake' view. This was booked as a birthday surprise for me and... more

As a birthday party group, 11 of us were accommodated in a delightful private lounge for a generously proportioned afternoon tea. We were made to feel most welcome, home baked cakes and scones were delicious and the sandwiches contained 'real' meat. A fussy vegetarian (sic.) had her needs catered for beautifully and at short notice by staff for whom nothing... more

After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor we were tempted to cancel our stay at the Newby Bridge Hotel but as it had been recommended by friends we decided to give it a try. The staff are very attentive, nothing is to much trouble and you are greeted with a big smile. The rooms are clean, well serviced and perfectly... more

If the hotel offers you one of the outside cottages, please beware! The room was dark, cold, damp (on one of the hottest days of the year so far) smelly, unkempt, dated, dirty and the view was out of this world! Meaning it looked out on the staff caravan park. As we checked in (actually the receptionist was great) we... more

We would like to apologise to this guest. We agree that the room was not up to our usual high standard and all housekeeping staff have been given re-training to ensure that this does not happen again. Our hotel keeps extremley high standards of cleanliness and our management regularly checks rooms ready for guests arrival. Unfortunately on this occasion we...

My partner and I have recently returned from the Newby Bridge, where we stayed for 2 nights with a wedding party. On arrival, the outside looked unkempt, but we didn't let that bother us it's the inside that counts. Check-in was a little slow and the receptionist was more conscious of answering the phone rather than dealing with the queue... more

We are a family of 6 and have just had a really pleasant stay. I was a little concerned having read some recent unfavourable reviews but have nothing but praise for the Newby Bridge. The room and linen were clean, pool clean and towels a plenty. The inclusive evening menu is varied and good and the breakfast superb. There is... more

Just needs a major makeover really. Fantastic service and food, but that is about all it has going for it. I stayed for 2 nights with my partner, our bedroom felt very dusty and unclean, damp patches on walls/ceiling as well. The cleaners were lovely people but don't seem to do any dusting or hoovering in the rooms themselves, there... more

Arrived to a warm welcome and free tea/coffee because our room was not quite ready (our fault, we were a little early ).We were on a 3 day special and unfortunately had to eat out on one of our nights, shame because the food was really good..presentation and taste were exceptional. The staff could not have done more including local... more

This hotel is not 4 star, neither does it profess to be. Some of the four star hotels we have stayed at lacked the excellent service and food we found at this hotel, by a long way. The hotel is a little tired, but very comfortable and clean, just right for a reasonable priced break in the Lakes. We and... more

Just got back from a weekend break. The four poster room we had was shabby and dated with stained furniture and numerous unidentifiable stains on the walls. The seating in the bar area was dirty and torn .There was a wedding on the Saturday of our stay, check this out because they use the dining room and all public areas.... more
