We stayed at the Swan recently and payed a whopping £190 for one nights stay. We requested a river view room which we had but the rooms were very disapointing. I have stayed in budget hotels will better decor and facilities. The furnitire was tired, the bathroom was incredibly grotty with black mould around the bath and the shower head... more

having recently visited the area we were looking for somewhere to eat in the evenings. Out of season the choice was limited, but the swan seemed inviting. Having eaten at the Lakeside hotel just up the road before, we wanted something less formal. The restaurant at the Swan offers Italian although the menu is limited. Our started were disappointing with... more

This was our second mini break at this hotel and everything about it was perfect, for a much needed winter break. The room was lovely and warm, cosy and clean. The gym is fine for a mini session and the pool not too cold, saunas and steam room nice and hot. The food in the Italian restaurant was good (but... more

We booked our wedding and paid deposit of £500 over a year before the wedding. In 13 months there were 3 different wedding planners and then the final straw... 4 months before the wedding they increased all the prices asking for an extra £2000 on top of the previously agreed prices! I contacted my solicitor who informed me they can’t... more

We went for a 2 night break just after Christmas and the only disappointing aspect of our break was that we couldn't stay for longer. The hotel was well equipped and nicely decorated, the spa treatments were fantastic and the location was beautiful. There are plenty of little lounges with roaring log fires to enjoy after a walk; we enjoyed... more

Perfect location. Good room. Lots of space & quiet corners to relax with a drink, and the riverside terrace is great when the weather allows. Pool & leisure facilities also good, and very clean. The food is a bit expensive (although not as much as at the Lakeside Hotel up the road!) and I would recommend sticking to the bar... more

Following a really enjoyable stay in this hotel in March 2007 we did not hesistate in staying here in Sept 2008. This was a different stay completely. The two main issues where a poorly serviced room and very unfriendly polish staff who made us feel like second class citizens. On complaining directly to the General Manager we received a reply... more

We stayed at The Swan for a weekend break to find out what it was like before attending a wedding there next February. I must say we were not at all disappointed and can't wait to return. We had a Junior Suite which was very spacious and well equipped. We had a mini bar complete with fridge, hairdryer that actually... more

We have previously eaten and stayed at the Swan Hotel and just loved it and recommended to friends. This time we have left somewhat dissapointed. We arrived as a "chance" booking as it was the last day of our honeymoon and wanted to end it on a special note. We checked in and were greeted by a lovely lady who... more
