Fantastic location and beautiful hotel bags delivered to your room a tour given of the hotel and its amenities. Staff excellent helpful and friendly. Small negatives-Upon asking for an upgraded room we were told would be £60 which we accepted but were charged £120 as the surcharge was per night and we had stayed 2 nights and this was not... More

We went for the three course afternoon tea at Lakeside yesterday it was absolutely amazing ! The flavours of the tea are first presented to you followed by the soup then sandwiches and lastly the cakes! What a wonderful idea. You could not fault the service. I've been to competing lakeside hotels and this is definitely the best! Will definitely... More

Beautiful hotel in a magical spot. Restaurant is above average and bar is good too. Staff are approachable and friendly. Not the cheapest but we will continue to go back whenever we can ! The best bedrooms command higher tariff with views over the lake ( Windermere). A pretty good spa attached and easy access to the boats.

All in all this is an exceptional hotel for location, staff friendliness and attention to detail. When you arrive you are greeted immediately, you car is taken to the car park for you and your luggage is sorted. You are taken on a tour of the Hotel and Spa before being taken to your room. These are all nice touches... More

Phoned on the 25 th of January to enquire about availability on a particular date in March only to be told very abruptly no availability and then the gentleman put the phone down without so much as a goodbye , very rude indeed . We have stayed at the lakeside many times over the last few years , never again

We wanted a comfortable high quality hotel in a great position with good leisure facilities and got these. The room was spacious, warm and well furnished with great views over the lake. The pool was good enough for proper swimming and gym well equipped. Sadly the fine dining restaurant was closed and the remaining options were overpriced ( £23 for fish... More

This hotel really is as good as the reviews indicate. A throwback to old fashioned courtesy and service from each and every staff member. The spa is relaxing, the views from the room and conservatory are spectacular (especially as we had heavy snow), the food is beautifully cooked and served and the lovely oak panelled bar has real ale. There... More

I arrived on Saturday 16th January 2016 having secured a room from the hotels own website which included dinner, bed and breakfast. From the moment I got out of my car to my departure I could not have been looked after any better. I think the concierge was called Andrew and the restaurant manager Marcos who both made me so... We have just returned home after a fabulous stay at the Lakeside. The spa was lovely- not too busy and the treatments were excellent. (Back massage and facial). The restaurant was just fab- from the scallop amuse bouche to the apple tarte tatin- fresh, delicious food. The staff go out of their way to be helpful & efficient :) Well worth... More

What a beautiful hotel! Fabulous food, friendly helpful staff and the concierge who goes out of his way to help you. Stayed in one of the suites which was lovely with gorgeous views over the lake. Would definitely recommend and hopefully return!
