Visited this lovely South Lakes Inn last week with a friend on a weekend motorbike trip before venturing up to Keswick. But it's far more than an Inn...We were booked into the separate accommodation block, but as it was advertised as an Inn my expectations were medium....WHAT A SURPRISE ! the room was very new, very chic and far more... This is just what you want from a Lake District Inn. A warm welcome, good honest food and superb beer. It's not a hotel and all the better for it. It has bags of character and charm and makes you feel like you belong there, unlike many hotels I could mention. It's relaxed, welcoming and I wish I could have... More

There is something odd about this place. Not sure if it is the disorganised breakfast. Or is it the lack of proffesionalism of the staff who don't always seem to view you as a guest. The food is only average, but they seem to think it's something special. They really need to get out and see what a hotel is... More

We notice from your other reviews that you tend to stay in hotels. We are in fact an Inn and a place where we welcome people as strangers hoping they’ll leave us as friends and do not claim to be a hotel. The majority of our guests have been staying with us for a number of years (staying 1 to... More

In the new annexe, fab bed, lovely shower and excellent food choice. Good breakfast and really helpful, friendly staff. The hotel is very clean and tidy with a good, well stocked bar and plenty of soft drink choices. The garden area is great for when the sun shines and there's plenty of outside seating. Car parking is good and spaces... More

We have recently returned from a 2 night stay. Our bedroom (B6) was in the new annex but was extremely small and cramped. There was very little storage space so it was a good job that we had very small cases and, as the weather was good, didn't require to dry any outdoor clothes. The bathroom was adequate but surprise,... More

Hi John and thank your for your feedback on Gosforth Hall which is very much welcomed. The Annex contains a number of rooms, all varying in size, depending on the bookings and availability, we aim to provide the larger rooms on a first come, first served basis, therefore I apologise that your room was not one of the largest. The... More

Excellent location for the Lake District, located in Gosforth Village Cumbria. The hotel is warm, friendly with brilliant staff and outstanding food. I have been staying here for over six months on and off. Family and pet friendly, wi fi, beer gardens, atmospheric and traditional.... what more would you want?

On a business trip to the area I stayed at the Gosforth Hall Inn. The people at this inn are wonderful. They are very friendly and helpful. They greeted us warmly and checked us in right away. The room was nice and clean and very appropriately decorated for an inn thought to be initial built 400 years ago. The exposed... More

We have stayed at Gosforth Hall a few times but this time was different. Firstly we now have a dog so we were given a gorgeous room in the annex which allowed us to have our dog in the room with us. Secondly I wanted to get some family members together to celebrate my husbands birthday. They were very accomodating... More

We have stayed a this hotel a few times now, and each time we have the same experience, it is great hotel with good food. Full of character in the old building, and modern in the annex, the staff have always been very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a lovely village within the lake district national park.... More
