Mmmmmm those pies! Just what we needed after a long drive and before a long hike. Homemade by the landlord. Plus good advice on where to walk in the local area and a cosy log fire to warm us up. Thanks Rod!

A return visit with such a warm welcolm. We arrived late due to Friday night traffic, but it was no bother to cook us a meal. Despite the cold weather our room was comfortably warm and everything was just perfect. The beds, room refreshments, showers all work perfectly. The breakfast was tasty and perfect coffee that you could serve yourself.... More

Everything about the Gosforth Hall Inn ticks the boxes for me. Great rooms, really excellent and varied food (not just pies....although they are great), great beer and always really welcoming. ...and if you are a bit of a fan of historical architecture then its for you. I have stayed in both the modern annex and the newly renovated old building... More

We stayed here one night while visiting family locally, as we had dined here previously. The new rooms in the annexe were bright, comfortable, and spotless . The hotel is well known for the food, especially their speciality pies, which do not disappoint. The owners have invested a fortune in the renovation of this Hall and when finished the rooms... We stayed 3 nights for Valentines weekend. From the moment we checked in the service was faultless. The room in the annexe we stayed in was well furnished, clean and spacious. The bathroom was amazing. All of the staff are very kind, courteous and friendly it's like meeting up with old friends. Breakfast was great but the home made pies... More

We visited the Gosforth Hall Hotel just after New Year for a family friend's birthday and this pub is fantastic. It's got a great atmosphere with the staff and local patrons very welcoming and friendly. Their speciality pies are awesome and have so much filling it's a struggle to finish. (I recommend the Spicy Moroccan lamb) A great place to... More

A well-furnished room, with all the necessary furniture and an elegant taste for the details could enhance the quality of an an accomodation, as it does in Gosforth Hall Inn Regarding the restaurant, well...The meat and the vegetable preparation weren't outstanding but at the end acceptable. The overall atmoshpere is quiete warm and relaxing

I've stayed there on few occasions while on business. There is a bizarre mixture of old pub (main building with restaurant) and the annex with all the rooms (new bit). Pub is a nice old style English pub with selection of real ales and spirits and of course your mainstream lagers. Staff is friendly (even too friendly at the times,... More
