This hotel gets better every time i come. Renovations are ongoing but i stayed in the new annex which is excellent. Modern, clean and built to a hig standard. You are guaranteed a good nights sleep. The food is amazing, try the home made pies. All the staff are really friendly and as they say enter a stranger, leave a... More

We received a wonderful welcome, the food was fantastic and the staff could not do enough to help and provide information. Food- the homemade pies are full of huge chunks of meat served with gravy. The chefs chocolate and Guinness cake served with hot chocolate sauce and ice cream was delicious. Breakfast was made using the best quality sausage, bacon,... More

We've just returned from a 2 night break at this quaint pub/restaurant/hotel, stayed in room 11 with it's huge bed and bath and loved it. The staff and owners of Gosforth Hall are outstanding. The pies are delicious as are the real chips. There are some quirks as you might expect from such an old building, I'm sure the renovations... More

After doing Ben Nevis we travelled down to the Gosforth Hall Inn, wet and very tired!! Due to road works etc. we didn't actually arrive until after 11pm, but there was someone waiting ready to check us in and get us off to our rooms - the process was very quick for all 20 of us! We were out in... More

We stayed in the 'new building' .... 2 appts downstairs & 8 (I think) rooms upstairs .... I don't know when it was built but would suggest it was quite recently. The rooms are modern, simply furnished but very comfortable. The showers are high quality & quite large with nice toiletries provided free. Breakfast was served in the main building... More

We stayed at Gosforth Hall in on the way to a party elsewhere in the lakes. Gosforth Hall Inn was a real find, with fantastic food (huge thumbs up on the pies!), large, comfy, fresh rooms and a beautiful beer garden. We were amazed to find somewhere that would let us book an apartment for one night only in peak... More

Visited this lovely South Lakes Inn last week with a friend on a weekend motorbike trip before venturing up to Keswick. But it's far more than an Inn...We were booked into the separate accommodation block, but as it was advertised as an Inn my expectations were medium....WHAT A SURPRISE ! the room was very new, very chic and far more... This is just what you want from a Lake District Inn. A warm welcome, good honest food and superb beer. It's not a hotel and all the better for it. It has bags of character and charm and makes you feel like you belong there, unlike many hotels I could mention. It's relaxed, welcoming and I wish I could have... More

There is something odd about this place. Not sure if it is the disorganised breakfast. Or is it the lack of proffesionalism of the staff who don't always seem to view you as a guest. The food is only average, but they seem to think it's something special. They really need to get out and see what a hotel is... More

We notice from your other reviews that you tend to stay in hotels. We are in fact an Inn and a place where we welcome people as strangers hoping they’ll leave us as friends and do not claim to be a hotel. The majority of our guests have been staying with us for a number of years (staying 1 to... More

In the new annexe, fab bed, lovely shower and excellent food choice. Good breakfast and really helpful, friendly staff. The hotel is very clean and tidy with a good, well stocked bar and plenty of soft drink choices. The garden area is great for when the sun shines and there's plenty of outside seating. Car parking is good and spaces... More
