On a business trip to the area I stayed at the Gosforth Hall Inn. The people at this inn are wonderful. They are very friendly and helpful. They greeted us warmly and checked us in right away. The room was nice and clean and very appropriately decorated for an inn thought to be initial built 400 years ago. The exposed... More

We have stayed at Gosforth Hall a few times but this time was different. Firstly we now have a dog so we were given a gorgeous room in the annex which allowed us to have our dog in the room with us. Secondly I wanted to get some family members together to celebrate my husbands birthday. They were very accomodating... More

This place was recommened to our friends who we were staying with and not long been in the area. All i can say is excellent from the minute we walked through the door. Warm inviting interior, oozing with oodles of character and history....busy busy Saturday evening however the very nice waitress had no problem with going out of her way... More

We have stayed a this hotel a few times now, and each time we have the same experience, it is great hotel with good food. Full of character in the old building, and modern in the annex, the staff have always been very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a lovely village within the lake district national park.... More

We were staying in another hotel in Gosforth for a few days and fancied a change so we went for a meal at the Gosforth hall after reading the menu online,it did sound good but in reality we we're let down.it seems that the place has difficulty keeping staff as the young waitress informed us that the chefs in there... I saw some negative reviews of this hotel and couldn't disagree more with the short sighted and overly pandered views of those submitting. This hotel, and this area to be fair, doesn't try to provide swanky cow-towing service like that received in soul-less chain hotels, Oh no, it is chock full of character from the 350 year old main hotel... When I booked I was assured that the restaurant was good quality and the rooms had wifi. When I arrived I was told the chef wasn't there that evening and the room had no wifi alongside being small, stuffy and poorly decorated. Wouldn't recommend staying here

Well we booked a room for 2 nights and agreed a price paid a deposit and then on arrival the very rude owner said we can no longer have the room for the price agreed but instead doubled the price . And she insisted she never even showed us around . Which caused my partner a lot of stress because... More

An excellent hotel/inn where the staff are exceptionally friendly and go out of their way to ensure your needs are met. Great food and plenty of it! The hotel offers a choice of quaint rooms in the old building and superior accommodation in the annex. Both include wifi. A++++

I didn't stay at the Gosforth Hall Inn, but enjoyed an excellent meal of one of their self-proclaimed "famous" pies. Of the three meals out I had during my week in Gosforth, this was the best by some distance. Haute-ciusine? Certainly not. Great value, delicious and hearty fare? Oh yes, indeed. They have a very decent range of local ales... More
