Stayed for 2 nights with my grown up son. Chose because we wanted somewhere to stay in Eskdale and with nearby restaurant so that I didn't have to worry about drinking/driving and evening meal. (Forest How - 2 miles away also very good but car needed for evening meal). Twin room (no 7) was adequate, with above average bathroom but... more

We have just spent 4 nights at the Brook House Inn arriving on the 28th August, bedrooms great with a fantastic bathroom plus all those little nicieties you expect in a top hotel. The thing that makes it exceptional are the staff, we have never before met such friendly and helpful, staff they are second to none. We booke for... more

Can only agree with most of the other comments regarding Brook House Inn. We stayed in room 3, best bathroom I have ever had in a guest house. We were more than impressed with the evening meal no 5 star hotel could have done better. Wonderful walks but do take your walking books and maps. We found the restaurant staff... more

The Brook House Inn is set in a very quiet location, although initially upon seeing it from the map situated on a road, I was dubious about this. An evening there though spent mainly outside on the terrace by the road saw about one car an hour go past - this really is almost the end of a road to... more

Our stay at the Brook House Inn was excellent from start to finish. Great location for walking. Gorgeous food and they even made us a packed lunch every day - we especially liked the homemade gingerbread! The staff could not have been friendlier. The rooms were comfortable and spotless. Overall I would thoroughly recommend it! Thanks! more

Getting away from it all in beautiful countryside and in a warm comfortable inn sums up the experience we had over 4 days. Didn't use the car once. There are great walks from the front door to suit all types - level riverside to high fells. the waterfall walk is lovely but the walks over the hills surrounding Boot are... more

Totally relaxing. We usually stay for 4 nights DB&B, park the car and hardly use it during our stay. The Ravenglass & Eskdale miniature steam railway is a few minutes walk away. Buy a day ticket and you can hop on and off. Walks from the doorstep include gentle riverside strolls, steady climbs to the nearby waterfalls and tarns to... more

We both had a nice break at the Brook House Inn. The accomadation is of a high standaed & tastefully decorated & furnished. The food in the restaurant was as always excellent & the bar has a good selection of real ales & is run by two brothers owen & Hywell who are very friendly & welcoming. This was our... more

The food was superb, as was the real ale; and the malt whisky "Tour of Scotland" was so good I took 2 trips! The service was friendly and thorough. The drying room was really useful, as we had got soaked during the day. The breakfast was also the best we had all week - it was nice that there was... more
