Checked in for a night on a tour of the lakes. Shop adequately stocked. Check in quick. Did Scafell and then had a bbq by the van on stones. No fires on grass quite rightly. There's a drying room, wash room, pot wash outside under cover. Then toilets and showers. All very clean. Grounds nice and look well kept. Waste... More

I have been visiting the National Trust campsite here for 10 years now and I’m shocked that I haven’t written a review sooner as it is without a doubt the best campsite I have come across in my travels. I am an avid camper and have stayed in places that range from the sublime to the ridiculous! The Wasdale Head... More

We took advantage of the special offer that the National Trust was running on their pod over the winter season and stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of January. The site is perfectly situated for some of best known fells in the Lake District including Scafell Pike and Great Gable. The Pod itself was very clean, with plenty of... More

We stayed here in May half term for a couple of nights ,excellent location I wouldn't want to go there in anything a lot bigger than our coach built type motorhome (7.1 mtr)as single track road to site, but staff friendly and showers clean (wife clean) which means a lot !!!great for walking up ska fell your right there at the... It is slightly remote, quite out of the way, but perfectly located, right at the foot of Scafell. We stayed in a wooden pod, with heating and lighting, which we were extremely glad of as the first night we stayed here it was torrentail. The shower / loo block was very clean and it had a laundry service too. The... More

This is a fabulous location. Okay we were there in September when the weather was superb but it will always be very worthwhile being here. This is under the Scafell mountain range and close to the head of Wastwater, the deepest lake in England. The site is very peaceful, well run and immaculate. We stayed in a family pod just... More

To start with - to get here you need to know where you're going - it's quite remote. You travel around a lake with breathtaking views. Use a map rather than google map or you might end up going through Hardknott Pass (absolutely must see), which I wouldn't recomend after dusk. Ideal location for walking up Scarfell Pike. The site... Stayed here with my girlfriend in September 2014 and it's a cracking little campsite, very clean and tidy, great location for Scafell, which is what we went for. Lots of ground to chose from to pitch your tent, toilet/shower blocks were very clean and tidy, plenty of hot water just needed a bit more water pressure in showers but that's... More

Love It!!!! We have just got back from a long Bank Holiday weekend in our tent at Wasdale. We had saved up our 20p's as some reviews said there was a charge for showers but it turned out there wasn't! The facilities were clean. Showers are the push button variety which do go off quite quickly however not a problem... More

Stayed for 3 nights in one of the pods at the site with my girlfriend. The campsite is in an absolutely picturesque part of the Lake District, at one end of Lake Wastwater and at the base of Scafell Pike. The site as you arrive looks extremely clean and well laid out and even though we didn't have a car... More
