It is slightly remote, quite out of the way, but perfectly located, right at the foot of Scafell. We stayed in a wooden pod, with heating and lighting, which we were extremely glad of as the first night we stayed here it was torrentail. The shower / loo block was very clean and it had a laundry service too. The... More

This is a fabulous location. Okay we were there in September when the weather was superb but it will always be very worthwhile being here. This is under the Scafell mountain range and close to the head of Wastwater, the deepest lake in England. The site is very peaceful, well run and immaculate. We stayed in a family pod just... More

To start with - to get here you need to know where you're going - it's quite remote. You travel around a lake with breathtaking views. Use a map rather than google map or you might end up going through Hardknott Pass (absolutely must see), which I wouldn't recomend after dusk. Ideal location for walking up Scarfell Pike. The site... Stayed here with my girlfriend in September 2014 and it's a cracking little campsite, very clean and tidy, great location for Scafell, which is what we went for. Lots of ground to chose from to pitch your tent, toilet/shower blocks were very clean and tidy, plenty of hot water just needed a bit more water pressure in showers but that's... More

Love It!!!! We have just got back from a long Bank Holiday weekend in our tent at Wasdale. We had saved up our 20p's as some reviews said there was a charge for showers but it turned out there wasn't! The facilities were clean. Showers are the push button variety which do go off quite quickly however not a problem... More

Stayed for 3 nights in one of the pods at the site with my girlfriend. The campsite is in an absolutely picturesque part of the Lake District, at one end of Lake Wastwater and at the base of Scafell Pike. The site as you arrive looks extremely clean and well laid out and even though we didn't have a car... More

My partner bought me two nights' stay here in our tent, so we could climb Scafell Pike and Great Gable. The site is really very good indeed. There was plenty of space available - you can basically pitch your tent wherever you'd like to. We went around to the far end of the site and were able to park our... More

Camped here for 3 days and would highly recommend this campsite. Beautifully situated at the foot of Scafell and a short walk from the lake, this campsite has everything you need if you want peace, quiet and stunning landscapes. Facilities at the site are excellent, good showers, clean loos and plenty of space to pick your ideal camping spot. It... More

What a gem of a campsite in stunningly beautiful surroundings! It attracts campers who enjoy the hills and mountains, and limits the size of groups. We climbed England's highest peak and canoed on Englands' deepest lake. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and facilities all in good condition. After 3 nights in a pod, we liked the place so much... More

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights in August. The campsite is clean and well-maintained with good facilities. Neither of us had to queue for the toilets or for a shower in the mornings. There's a laundry room which we didn't need to use but it was good to know it was there. The staff at reception were helpful... More
