Stayed here in our camper van for 3 nights. Lovely spot, not crowded, private pitching. Good facilities. Local pub great food. Great location for lovely walks and of course to climb scafell pike. Staff in shop/reception friendly and helpful.

Stayed a Sunday of the Bank Holiday weekend. Staff said it was busy but there was still plenty of room between tents and the site noise was minimal. Good facilities, warm showers and plenty of sinks. Booking advisable.

Perfect camp site. Has everything you need including secure swipe card parking. Extremely clean and all staff are really friendly and helpful. The views from your tent are unbelievable and it's is very peaceful and quite. We will be going back as often as possible.

Really nice campsite where you can choose where to pitch. It's quiet as not near a road and lots of trees around to quieten down any potential noise. The views of the surrounding mountains are great and the local pub is both reasonable prices and excellent food (Lamb Stew after Scafell Pike is the food of gods) My only small... More

Recently came to the Lakes on a short break to conquer Scafell Pike and some nearby Wainwrights. Wasdale valley is stunning, and driving within literally a few metres of Wast Water looking across to The Screes on the approach to the campsite is breathtaking. The site is a camper's dream; beautifully maintained with flat pitches and encircled by tall trees... More

Checked in for a night on a tour of the lakes. Shop adequately stocked. Check in quick. Did Scafell and then had a bbq by the van on stones. No fires on grass quite rightly. There's a drying room, wash room, pot wash outside under cover. Then toilets and showers. All very clean. Grounds nice and look well kept. Waste... More

I have been visiting the National Trust campsite here for 10 years now and I’m shocked that I haven’t written a review sooner as it is without a doubt the best campsite I have come across in my travels. I am an avid camper and have stayed in places that range from the sublime to the ridiculous! The Wasdale Head... More

We took advantage of the special offer that the National Trust was running on their pod over the winter season and stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of January. The site is perfectly situated for some of best known fells in the Lake District including Scafell Pike and Great Gable. The Pod itself was very clean, with plenty of... More
