We visited in a party of 4 adults and 4 children aged 3 months to 5 years. The site is in a great location and the steam train is great. However, the site was very expensive and not value for money. After paying £25 per night for 2 adults and 2 children in 1 tent, I did not expect to pay... More

We stayed for 2 nights with our children (4yrs & 2yrs). This was our first & I had researched campsites for families - this was listed in a national newspaper's top 10. We really enjoyed our stay here & would look forward to going back. The play area is great & our boys loved it. I would recommend taking wet... More

This is the worst place I have ever been too! As you arrive from your long drive you are greeted at the gate and asked to pay straight away! No show round first, no smile. I had friends staying here and as there isn't any phone or internet signal We decided to meet at fisherground when we had all set... More

Recently returned from a two night stay at fisherground campsite. Myself and my partner wanted to stay in the area in order to climb Scaffell Pike. We considered the national trust campsite nearer to the mountain but were put off by the price, this campsite seemed like a good compromise as it was cheaper but further away. I wish we... More

Just back from 5 days at fisherground which was a nice site; but as the title says could be so much better. We arrived and the first thing we were greeted with was being asked to move our car even though we were on the hard standing for booking in?.I think the only time the women (took it to be... More

Just stayed here for the weekend . Arrived to be greeted by a member of staff who was most helpful then was guided by another staff member to pitch up . The amenities were very clean and were cleaned often through the day . Staff were always around , even walking round at night felt very secure. This is a... More

We were looking forward to a few days in the lakes and we weren't disappointed, even after a longer than expected drive to avoid Hardknott Pass. We arrived and were directed to our pitch and advised which way to pitch our tents around the fire pit then left to it. We had to replace our tent on the second night... More

Fantastic pond for the children to play in, good local attractions, plenty to do for all. Very efficient, organised camp, in midst of rural beauty. This is a truly awesome site. We went a couple of years ago now and it was really clean, friendly, well run site. Definitely would go back again.

Just returned after spending 7nights at Fisherground. Originally booked for 4 nights but extended our stay. On arrival we were met by a pleasant warden booking us in and directing us to our pitch. We were met by another warden showing us where to pitch and explaining the rules of site and pointing out various ammenties ect. We found all... More

First came here 30 years ago and had a week of pure bliss as a 10 year old. One toilet for male and one for female with a cold running tap for both. Spent a week of pure bliss! My love of the lakes originates from this experience of rural camping at it's best with major hikes and views to... More
