I stayed in this hotel just for a night in a Saturday. Despite advising that the hotel had parking, it was rather small for the amount of people that can stay there. In addition, the village is quite small and probably that the only option you have to part the car is in a private parking where you need to... More

This was a Groupon special offer so good value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was large, comfortable and well appointed. We had a lovely meal there and breakfast was very good too. Our Springer Spaniel was made very welcome and able to join us both for dinner and breakfast. We had a lovely stay... More

We were bought this trip to The Cavendish Arms as a present through Living Social deals. We arrived in the late afternoon to be greeted by a very pleasant gentleman and shown to our room. Although the room was adequate for our needs and also enabled us to take our dog, we were disappointed with the overall standard of the... More

Just returned from a three night stay in Cartmel at the Cavendish Arms. A 16th century inn with modern touches in the bedrooms. Our bathroom in room 3 was brand new and featured a super walk in shower. Breakfast on the first morning was great, but sadly went downhill and the scrambled egg on the 3rd day was gloopy and... Me and my boyfriend spent a couple of nights here last week and it was just what we needed. The pub/inn itself is so inviting, cosy and personal and steeped in history. when we arrived the sun was out and we could sit outside with good cold beer. When English weather prevailed we could go inside and sit by a... More

Our first stay in Cartmel and we loved the quirky, historic feel of the building. We had room 3, simple, very clean, comfy bed, great bathroom and shower and real coffee with cafetière. Breakfast was beautifully cooked. Staff dealt with one small problem very sweetly and professionally. Great place to choose as a base to explore the area around Cartmel.

Given this 2 night stay as a presient from our kids, love this area so much to do and see. First impressions, OMG how on earth are we going to get our car through the archway to park, decided to go round and approach it from the other end, 2 inches either side if that, car park small but managed... Having eaten here on many occasions and being very well feed and looked after before what a great disappointment this evening was . The food even for a bank holiday weekend was at best poor and service below that ! To be looked down at when offering an opinion on our meal and just presumed to be after a discount... More

Booked 3 rooms for a family celebration and loved everything about The Cavendish Arms. The welcome was very warm and also went beyond expectations as we arrived at 11.30 and needed to change and our rooms were ready by 12--wonderful. The rooms were lovely with extremely comfortable beds. We had very good evening meals in the bar which had a... More

Stayed one night with family. Hotel has really nice rooms that are well furnished. Corridors are on a slant but, given the age of the building, that just adds to the appeal. Staff very warm, friendly and welcoming. Didn't eat here, sadly, as my son had booked us in elsewhere (on recommendation and we wished we hadn't gone there) but... More
