We arrived to a warm welcome and we were pleased when we seen the huge bed. The room had everything we needed, other than a remote for the TV. We spent a pleasant evening in the bar, staff were friendly and attentive. After a great evening we were looking forward to crashing in that huge bed but unfortunately it was... More

A huge thank you to Richard, and his team for a wonderful stay in Cartmel. Everything was perfect from a very comfortable room with lots of space, to a lovely evening meal by a 'rip roaring' fire. The breakfast was very tasty, with plenty of choice. We had a wonderful time exploring the village, and surrounding areas, and will return... More

We arrived for a two night stay and received a great welcome. Had a lovely large, quiet room with a comfy large bed and nice shower room. It is a lovely old building and looked gorgeous with the Christmas decorations up. We ate there the first night and the food was excellent. No problem with the breakfast either, plenty to... More

This hotel is very old and quaint and set in the most beautiful village, it has the most places to eat and drink from 2 Michelin stars to pub grub, and such amazing shops selling cheese and homemade bread, and local produce, you would not need to go anywhere else. But it is not far from lake Windermere and the... More

We stayed 2 nights in a superior room B+B. The staff were welcoming and efficient, the pub was a good place to spend an evening eating and drinking with friends. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean and had a very comfortable bed, and good sized bathroom. We overlooked a charming square from large windows. Parking was a challenge... More

We were only here for one night but gladly have stayed longer. The room was clean and comfortable with a good en-suite. A pleasure to see a room so well handled in such an old building. An old place indeed with a lot of history. Sadly we had another rendezvous for dinner but the menu looked good and the food... More

Rooms are basic but comfortable here with lovely clean crisp bed linen and comfy bed. Stayed for dinner in the restaurant. Ordered Tagine but this wasn't as delicious as when I had it before. It was mostly whole apricots with underdone aubergine, soggy cous cous, chutney, and strips of omelette which just didn't go with anything else on the plate.... More

We stayed here for 2 nights on a Groupon and upgraded to a king size room which was the attic room over their shop just round the corner from the Cavendish Arms. The room looked great at first but, as it is the attic, has sloping ceilings, so only room to stand up in the centre. The bed was comfortable,... More

Me and my partner stayed here for one night, we had a groupon voucher. On arriving here we received a really warm welcome and staff we very friendly. The bar area and the dinning area were really nice and warm. Having looked on the website and looked at the reviews every thing was matching what was been said. On arrival... More
