We stayed at the Cavendish Arms on Sunday 27th July for 1 night, we stayed in room 5, huge comfy bed in a massive room, nice big bathroom with good shower. We ate in the restaurant with complimentary bottle of wine with internet deal if having 2 courses, homemade steak and ale pie followed by cartmel sticky toffee pudding, both... More

We stayed at the Cavendish for one night midweek on an internet deal. As previous reviewers have mentioned the access to the car park is a bit tight and I was glad we took the Aygo and left the Winnebago at home! We checked in about a quarter to seven and reserved a table for dinner for 7.45 easily enough... More

Just back from 2 night's stay at the Cavendish Arms. Richard and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. We were a party of 13 for this years annual reunion. My husband and myself had never visited Cartmel before, what a lovely place! The entrance to the Cavendish Arms, on first approach, looks very tight ( you drive through... More

We stayed for 2 nights during the race weekend, lovely room, nice and clean. We had a lovely meal on our first night, breakfast were delicious. My only complaint was that I had booked 2 rooms a double room and a single occupancy double from Booking.com in February which you don't usually pay until you check out, but because it... More

Stayed for 2 nights over a busy racing weekend. The Cavendish Arms is an Old Coaching Inn, lovely - with all the expected low ceilings, wooden beams & squeaky floors plus, apparently, a resident ghost ( one of our party did claim to hear it in the night but that could have been as a result of too many glasses... We spent Sunday night at the Cavendish on a great value deal. The place is quirky and old, with squeaky floors - and a very scary entrance to the car park if you drive anything larger than a mini! The staff were friendly the food great and the rooms functional and spotlessly clean. Would we return - a unanimous yes!

Stayed overnight here with our dog. Only 10 month old so hoped that it would be a pleasant experience. From the minute we arrived we were made extremely welcome. Fantastic room we stayed in the square and booked in for evening meal. Me and my husband had steak pie and trout for main course which was gorgeous. Chocolate brownie for... More

We visited this venue as a restaurant after booking in to a nearby hotel and decided not to eat there. We were warmly welcomed with our dog by staff who were friendly, polite and attentative. The attention to detail was exceptional and literally nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb, hot and delicious. We googled accomodation whilst we... More

We have just returned from a 2 night stay here on a wowcher deal. The pub, service, food and drinks were excellent. The room wasn't huge but it had everything you needed. Car park was tight but we managed! Cartmel is a gorgeous village and I wouldn't hesitate to return and would stay and eat again at the Cavendish Arms.
