A welcome return to The Cavendish Arms at Cartmel. Staff welcoming , helpful and friendly throughout our stay.. We had a nice, comfortable room in one of the new luxury rooms in the village square. We stayed a comfortable extra night night in one of the quaint rooms in this 450 year old coaching inn, which as the Cavendish Arms... More

Kit hen smell in bathroom but not too bad. Room tired but okay but please get some decent pillows. It wasn't just us I heard one lady descrribe... More

Got a great deal on Groupon and stayed 2 nights B&B with a free bottle of wine with our first evening meal. Room cosy, but lovely comfortable bed, plenty of storage and tea and coffee facilities. Simple bathroom with a large bath and shower, plenty of towels and shower gel and hand cream in dispensers. Staff could not have made... More

Spent two nights at this hotel, traditional old Inn, with good atmosphere, friendly staff. Great location, with excellent walks available (dog Friendly), We thought food ok but menu a little limited., But due to the central location there is plenty of other restaurants and pubs to chose from nearby. Good breakfast. Accommodation was well presented and clean, Our room though... More

A charming hotel in a beautiful village, however the room we had so so small i could only associate it with a single room, the whole room was the width of a 3/4 bed and 2 small bedside cabinets, no room to move or even dress as the dated bathroom (shower no bath) was far too small even to get... Great Hotel/ Pub. Very welcoming reception. The manager explained how & where everything was and if anything else was required then just ask a member of the team. The hotel was obviously old and full of character but our room was really cosy and comfortable. It is in a central position within Cartmel Village just off the square meaning once... More

We have visited the Cavendish a number of times and I regularly stay here if in the area on Business, the staff are very helpful and I have not experienced some of the problems other reviewers have had and I have stayed in most rooms, I would class it as good value for money in comfortable surroundings. We ate here... More

Coming to Cartmel always involves a stay at the Cavendish for us as it has always lived up to expectations in every way. One has to remember that this is a very old coaching inn with odd shaped rooms. However you can rest assured that the beds are comfortable, the rooms warm and that there is a quiet calm about... This was our first visit to Cartmel and we had such a lovely weekend. We were greeted with a very warm welcome by the landlord, and the staff were so attentive. We were shown to our room on arrival by a lovely lady whom was so helpful and informative of the area. The room met all our expectations of an... More

Two nights in August in room 5. Quirky but clean and very tidy. All staff really friendly. Excellent food. Car park entrance a bit tight especially arriving as we did on the day of the Cartmel show. Loved the place and the town so much we have rebooked for 2015.
