Just spent 5 days being spoiled by attentive staff and great dining. Room complete with 4 poster bed was clean comfortable and had views over the fields to Cartmel.. The Priory is well worth a visit and Cartmel is charming. Plenty to see and do in the south lakes.

This traditional country house hotel is excellent in all respects. Our room (4) was very large with every facility required for a comfortable stay. My sirloin steak was one of the best I have ever had. The wine list has a good range of wines, many in the £18 to £25 range. Service good and friendly and excellent value for... More

Decided to explore the other side of the Lake District (we are from the west of Cumbria) and found the hotel had great Trip Advisor reviews. We travelled to celebrate my wife's birthday. First time in a country house hotel. We found everything to be first class, from the attentive personal service, to the food. At dinner I had one... More

My partner and I stayed for one night on a whistle stop visit to Cartmel. We called to book the evening before and we're told that there was one twin room available. My partner asked if there was any possibility of a double, and the gentleman said he'd look at his bookings and see what he could do. True to... More

We stayed here for a few days recently and had a lovely time. Pros: The food was excellent and the hotel accommodated every request we made. The lounge areas (there are a few) were lovely places to relax with plenty of comfy seats. The grounds of this hotel were stunning and very quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms... More

Just spent five days at Aynsome Manor, what a wonderful hotel Everything you could possibly want is on hand. The food, service and attention given was just first class. Chris, Andrea and all their staff were so obliging and attentive, it was just superb. Location ideal for visits to various places in the Lake District. Lakeside is only 10 minutes... More

35 years ago we honeymooned here. We have retraced our steps wondering all the way why we hadn't come back to Aynsome before. We have never stayed anywhere that has friendlier or more helpful staff. We stayed 10 days and felt like family. Our room had a shower only which was fine but do check. It was absolutely clean and... More

We went to the racing at Cartmel - the smallest track in Britain - and a wonderful day out. This hotel was ideally placed, within walking distance of the track. You can hear the commentaries from the hotel as the horses are put through their paces. The hotel itself is very friendly, with lovely public rooms. The bedrooms are fine... More

We enjoyed a four-night stay with friends - three couples in total. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who all worked hard to make our time here thoroughly enjoyable. The food was memorable and offered good value for money. It's a very old building, so expect creaky floorboards - and the lack of a modern ventilation system means... More
