A nice hotel, with lots of charm. The staff were very attentive and helped with all of our needs and requests. The breakfast was very nice and well cooked, and there was a wide choice of items available. Only slight downside was the room was located in front of the main stairway so we were woken by people going down... More

My partner and I stayed for one night, as we were visiting family in the area. From the moment we walked in the front door we were made to feel very welcome. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the two sitting areas in the hotel are lovely. It was great to sit by the log fire and unwind with... More

We booked a family (adults) break on the recommendation of my sister, who had stayed here with her husband earlier in the year, and picked up details of an excellent offer for stays in December. Four of us stayed in the annex, which meant us having a little cottage of our own just across from the back door of the... More

Another very satisfying three night stay at the Aynsome Manor. The high standards of attention given to the quality of service continue to be maintained. The dining experience is outstanding, both the qulaity of the food and the service. The owners continue to invest wisely in raising the standards of furnishings, decor and facilities.

Stayed three nights at the fabulous Aynsome Manor near Cartmel while working in Ulverston. Wonderfully well looked after by attentive staff; great food and wine; cosy fires and some lovely people who shared companionable dinners. Highly recommended and hope to be back next time I'm working in this area.

Today fourteen of us celebrated my mum's 80th birthday at Aynsome Manor. We went for Sunday lunch and it was perfect. We were made so welcome with pre-lunch drinks served in the beautiful sitting room (area reserved for us). The lunch was delicious and any changes to the menu we requested for the children in our party were happily received... More

We felt welcomed as soon as we entered the hotel. Even when we returned after dinner had been served on our first evening, we were greeted with a smile as we enjoyed a whiskey in the bar. Everyone working at the hotel was a joy to be around and the food at dinner and breakfast was delicious. We really appreciated... More

We were shown to a depressing small room on the second floor with aging analglypta wall paper, dated furniture, a slight smell of laundry. Not a room you would want to spend more time in than necessary -more exhausted than tired. The bathroom was a windowless cabin. We asked reception if there was a better room and the receptionist was... More

Dear Bottle 222, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am pleased that you enjoyed your dinner and breakfast with us and the service offered to you. I think the comments concerning your bedroom were unfair and rather snide. We are a traditional, comfortable, country house hotel offering a high level of service, we do not... More

Lovely hotel. Period property and furnished in a traditional way. Very comfortable. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Nothing seems too much trouble. The food was absolutely delicious. We had evening meal and breakfast. Both excellent. There is a really nice cosy lounge with open fire to relax in during the evening and a bar. The hotel... More
