My mum, husband and I stayed at Aynsome Manor for 2 nights at the beginning of December. It is our fifth time staying here, and nothing ever disappoints. It is so comfortable and welcoming. You immediately switch off and feel so relaxed. Andrea, Chris and David go above and beyond to make their guests feel special. The rooms are clean... More

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were made comfortable and welcome. Our twin room was not what you would call luxurious but it had all that was needed and everything worked, though the TV & freeview channels need updating. The room was warm and the shower was fine. We slept extremely well. Breakfasts were excellent... More

We stayed here two nights in early October and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is a well run place with comfortable spacious ensuite rooms, good food and attentive service. It's a bit of a throw back to an earlier time when guests at a lodge dressed up for the evening dinner. At Aynsome it wasn't exactly black tie and evening gown... More

I came across this hotel as I wanted to find somewhere in Cartmel. Well, it is a little gem. Whilst not comparable to a modern 5*, this gem is run by the lovely Andrea and Chris who make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The rooms are nice and clean. Downstairs there is a log fire which is... More

A return visit to the hotel lived up well to expectations! A real fire in the downstairs lounge is really welcoming in the winter months. Friendly service and superb family evening dinner, with a good wine list. The hotel has a very good chef.

My partner Angela and 4 of our friends booked in for dinner. The welcome by David was warm and he showed us up to the upstairs lounge that dated from the 18 century. A cheerful fire and comfortable chairs and settees started off a very pleasant evening. The food turned out to be first class and the house wines excellent... More

We had a pleasant warm welcome on checking in.Only a short walk into Cartmel it was good on our return to arrive into a warm friendly hotel The room was immaculate in every way. The meal in the evening was excellent and so was the service. After a good nights sleep we had one of the best breakfasts ever. However... More

We received a very warm and friendly welcome from the reception staff at this lovely hotel. The bedroom was spacious and tastefully furnished and overall very comfortable. We didn't dine in the restaurant in the evening as we had already reserved a table at nearby L'enclume although the menu looked really tempting and on another occasion we would certainly avail ourselves....
