This was our second stay here although we have dined here on a couple of other occasions. The hotel is a typical Cumbrian Stone built hotel in the Lake District located close to the village of Cartmel. Its decor is charming the rooms are old style, not old fashioned but with all the amenities. The food is first class and... More

My friend booked this hotel for an overnight stay as a belated Christmas and early birthday present. The hotel has great views and the room was very comfortable and clean. The evening meal was of average quality, the best being the soup and cheese courses, the lamb was cooked well but lacked flavour and the gratin potatoes were overcooked. If... More

In time we will visit this area again & there is only one place to stay. Aynsome Manor!! It is a gem. The room was 'compact', but very clean, comfortable & all that we required for our 3 night stay. The owners & staff were great. David very chatty & very professional & a huge asset as were the kitchen staff,... More

As always a great stay fantastic friendly service. The food just as good. Will always be a retreat from the grind of dailylife. And finally breakfast, just enough to last until dinner, five course and bed.

We stayed for two nights B&B and ate in the restaurant one night. The lounges are wonderfully relaxing places to have pre- and post-dinner drinks with large comfortable armchairs and cosy log fires. The dining-room has a beautifully ornate ceiling and solid traditional furniture. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, with an en-suite that is compact but well-equipped (Room 9).... More

Having driven from South Yorkshire to meet my partner for the weekend, I was very pleasantly suprised to hear that, after a busy day for us both, we were going to be enjoying the wonderful hospitality and food that the Aynsome Manor offers on Saturday evening, St Valentine's. Neither of us were disappointed, we were warmly greeted by Chris and... More

A quaint little place to stay. Lovely Manor House setting and if we had not had freezing fog, there would have been some lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Lovely coal fires and lounges to read the paper in. Customer service exceptional, rooms very comfortable. Food lovely. I did feel as though I would have liked to spend longer over... More

My mum, husband and I stayed at Aynsome Manor for 2 nights at the beginning of December. It is our fifth time staying here, and nothing ever disappoints. It is so comfortable and welcoming. You immediately switch off and feel so relaxed. Andrea, Chris and David go above and beyond to make their guests feel special. The rooms are clean... More
