Stayed with Duncan and Eileen whilst attending a party nearby, they are fantastic hosts and look after you from the moment you arrive until you leave. Nothing is too much trouble for them to ensure you enjoy your stay with them . They catered for my wife who is a vegetarian with home made sausages for breakfast with a copy of... More

A warm welcome greeted us this afternoon at Market Cross Cottage, a cafe and B&B in picturesque Cartmel village. The fire was lit, a good cup of tea and warm scones hit the spot. We had a long chat with the hosts who entertained us with tales of local happenings and life in the village. We have called in here... More

The man serving in the cafe was very stressed and flustered by having about 3 tables full of customers! As a result he came across as rude and gruff, we were asked what we wanted but not offered a menu. Our cafetiere of coffee was really bad. The plunger had evidently been pushed right down, it was really weak and... More

Went to stay with Duncan and Eileen recently and can not praise them highly enough. Their main concern was that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Excellent location, we will return shortly.

Duncan and Eileen are excellent hosts. Although we only go there once a year Eileen always remembers that I like English mustard with my breakfast. My husband rates the sausages very highly which is praise itself. The rooms are clean and comfortable in the heart of Cartmel with access to local real ale pubs and a range of fascinating shops.

A very conveniently placed B&B in the heart of this pretty village, within walking distance of L'Enclume and Rogan's restaurants and good pubs. Friendly welcome from Duncan & Eileen, comfortable rooms with shower, and good well-cooked breakfast. GTood value for money

Duncan and Eileen bend over backwards to make you feel at home in their cosy cottage .The breakfast is freshly cooked and piping hot and served with genuine pride and a smile . We loved the home made marmalade .You could not ask for a better location to be in cartmel as it right in the middle and close to... More

A lovely B&B with excellent owners. Duncan and Eileen make you feel very welcome as though inviting you into their home. My family return again and again when visiting the Lakes. It's in a perfect location for a relaxing weekend away in Cartmel, serving a great breakfast and suberb meals (especially Eileen's Sunday lunch).
