We stayed for one night in a Superior Room (19) which faced out to the Methodist Church and gardens. The bathroom was enormous and modernly decorated with a huge rain shower. The bed was extremely comfortable with eygptian cotton linen and the matching furniture and fittings were all tastefully added. The room had a nespresso machine with plenty of capsules,... More

We stayed two nights to eat at Rogan and Co and then L'Enclume itself, and had a wonderful time. The hotel manages to successfully combine the charm of a great central village setting, with old beams and uneven floors, with modern high quality facilities. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was very good indeed, with lots of space... More

My wife and I stayed at L'Enclume and ate at Rogan & Co (separate TripAdvisor review) as part of a mini tour of the Lakes. We had a downstairs room at L'Enclume House and whilst it was generally well appointed and a well executed modern twist on an old building had been executed, there was a fatal error ad that... More

We stayed at the rooms owned by L'Enclume despite a last minute wobble after reading trip advisor reviews. Our accommodation was great and we had two rooms, one for myself and hubby and one for our teenage girls. Great accommodation in the heart of the village. Facilities were lovely and bathrooms particularly sumptuous. The manager could not have been more... More

Stayed here in order to eat at the restaurant and be able to stagger back to a bed. Room was a delight, sloping floor not withstanding. Bed probably the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Two small snags, coffee was provided via a Nespresso machine. Hateful. And the underfloor heating in the lavish bathroom was fiendishly hot, so beware!

Initial impressions were good, the room was enormous, the bathroom vast and the bed, well, about the size of a tennis court. The room itself was so huge that we left several regions of it unexplored. The positives of the room were the village location and convenience for L’Enclume and Rogan & Company. There is nothing wrong with the room... More

This was our second trip to Cartmel and our first visit to L'Enclume. The last time we ate in the bistro and the pub, both of which were excellent. So on the back of this, we booked in for the taster dinner. It was a great theatrical experience and some of the flavours and combinations were excellent. They were very... More

We stayed here for a celebration and the food at the restaurant was truly amazing, delicious and memorable for all the right reasons. We also noted the issues with fingerprints on the door of the bathroom door of the Bradshaw room - their cleaners need to have microfibre cloths and they should vanish! Apart from this we loved the room... More

I enjoyed an overnight stay with a 12 course taster menu in the evening. The food was fantastic and is definitely one of the most memorable meals I've eaten. Presentation is just beautiful. The young staff serving each course were excellent. The Staff member on check in wasn't the most welcoming however. The six of us thoroughly enjoyed the dining... More
