A very different dining experience each course is explained as to what is in it and what you may find in there to taste definitely different, a challenge can you eat the 17 courses.if you feel this may be too much try the lunch menu.

I was taken here as a birthday surprise by my wife. As soon as we stepped across the threshold we were warmly received and seated promptly. We went for the 17 course taster menu which was an epic culinary treat. The menu was varied and each course presented and devised with great levels of flair and imagination. The wine pairings... The rooms of the "L'enclume" restaurant are situated a couple of hunderd yards from therstaurant itself. Nice walk trough the old village beings you to some nice roomsin the Rogan dependence. Friendly staff, nice rooms with good bed and huge bathroom! One of the best breakfast since years!

We chose to return to L'enclume to celebrate a 40th Birthday We did the 2 night / 2 restaurant package The hotel rooms were lovely and were easily 4* We ate in L'enclume and were a little dissapointed to see the courses had dropped from 21 to 16..especially when we had repeats from our last visit The service as always... Stayed here combined with dinner in the wonderful restaurant. The accommodation at L'Enclume is somewhat scattered around the lovely village of Cartmel. I think we were just unlucky to be given a room above the restaurant. On the plus side it was spotlessly clean. The bathroom nicely finished but cramped. The room itself being in an old building sloped as... More

Stayed as we were going to the restaurant which was once again beautiful. The rooms are lovely but the bed wasn't that comfy I felt like I was sloping out of bed all night. The bathroom floor is slippy and the pillows very poor. Other than that looks nice and is very handy being right in the centre of everything.... More

We stayed in room 4 on 3rd July. Beautiful, spacious with fine attention to detail. In the heart of the village, the location could not have been better and we would definitely return. We have two proper foodie outings every year. I booked 1 night in the hotel to compliment hubby's birthday meal at L'Enclume and the entire experience was,... More

We had a two night stay at the end of February sampling the wares at L’Enclume and Rogan & Co on consecutive evenings. The room was a good size, very clean, comfortable and the bathroom was well sized and equipped. Can’t recall if there was wifi but there is a nespresso machine in the room along with a small fridge... More

Low ceilings in an old converted cottage right in the centre of Cartmel. Location couldn't be much better and you really get the feel of Cartmel village life. Perhaps not the poshest hotel room I've been in but it would be wrong to try to compare it with the best in London. This is a very quiet and comfortable hotel... More
