My husband and I visited the Engine Inn most days during our recent stay in Cark, week commencing 21st March. On our first and all subsequent visits we were made to feel extremely welcome by all of the staff, especially the young dark-haired female who appeared to be behind the bar on most days . This is a typical real... More

My husband and I visited this pub having seen it advertised in a copy of Lancashire life. I asked for a diet coke which the lady duly poured, however I noted this appeared to be coke when watching her use the draft pourer. She then informed me that they did not have any diet coke (very strange?!) and asked if... More

This overnight stay was for our wedding anniversary. A beautiful 17th Century former Coaching Inn. Our double room was very clean and comfortable there was en-suite toilet and shower. We had a snack lunch, dinner and full English breakfast, all very well prepared and presented. The bar and kitchen staff were welcoming and very friendly. The hosts were again very... More

The pub is in a lovely location. We arrived after a walk along the coast from nearby Flockburgh. We had our two dogs with us and they were welcomed in, and we didn't have to worry about them dripping/being sandy as the floors were wooden. the whole pub, including the toilets, felt very clean. The service from the bar maid... More

My husband and I wanted a few days away before the madness of Christmas is upon us. We didn't originally plan to stay at the Engine Inn, but so glad we did now! We stayed for 3 nights, having never been to that part of the country before, so glad I did now. Rolling hills, tiny quaint village, no civilisation... More

My daughter in law made a late booking for us at the Engine and we had had a lovely time during this half term.. The pub is quaint and very old. A good old fashioned bar with a good selection of beer, wines and spirits. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable and our evening meal menu had a good... More

Had three nights staying here in October and could not fault it. Room was lovely and clean, very warm and cosy. Lots of tea and coffee and toiletries. Breakfast was good and could not fault the food in the evening. Would recommend it to others and would come back again. Loved the drawings on the display wall that the children... More
