Yet again great food and atmosphere! Love this place, definitely recommend for a cosy night out! The food is always tasty, good choices and very seasonal. Staff are friendly and consistent, like 'a well oiled machine' if you will! Can't wait for our next visit!

We generally don't go back to the same place twice. This is our second visit and therefore second review. I guess our return goes someway to writing the review without having to say much more……and…….we are booked in again…..a third time! Who-da-thunk it?! We love this place. It is full of genuinely nice staff, good beer and the food is... More

I booked a Saturday night stay at short notice. Our accommodation as a fabulous little cottage with a big kitchen diner with a big open fire with logs and coal provided, all you had to do was throw a match in. There was a lovely lounge on the first floor with stunning views from your own little terrace. then there... More

Staying at a nearby hotel,we called in here for a drink only, cosy pub, good atmosphere, would have eaten, but had already booked elsewhere in advance, however, we will return and probably eat here next time. The terrace has stunning views and would be nice to eat outside on a sunny day.

My wife and I called in to the Masons Arms at 1434hrs on 25th November following a local 4hrs walk and were looking forward to a drink and sandwiches. The young girl behind the bar politely informed us that they stopped serving food (including snacks) at 1430hrs (not her fault) and that only crisps and nuts were available. I did... More

First visit to this place for about 10 years and really glad we went back. Friday lunchtime, busy as it's a popular place but no problem finding a table. Great range of beers as always and an excellent bar menu. Food good especially the homemade soup and a wonderful creme brulee.

Having eaten lunch here and enjoyed sitting on the terrace on a sunny day, we thought here would be a good choice to have a special break. We stayed in the Strawberry suite - this was nice enough but does not have a view. We did not find the inn "warm & welcoming" at all despite spending four nights here.... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at the Mason's Arms. We stayed in the Lythe cottage - very comfortable. We enjoyed a great hike in the morning before our departure. The breakfast basket provided more than ample food for three people. This would be a good place to spend 2 or 3 nights, unfortunately we had only 1 night... More

I stayed at the Mason's Arms with some friends a couple of weeks ago. We all enjoyed the accommodation but oh dear...what is going on in the restaurant? There was a series of errors with our order which, on their own would not have been a problem . However, in addition one of our party ordered a blue cheese sauce... More

We've eaten several times at the Masons Arms but decided to have our wedding anniversary weekend here. We stayed in the Crossthwiate suite, the bed was very comfortable and the room a perfect temperature. It was great being able to open the windows properly! However the duvet was too thick and hot. The food is excellent but even though we... More
