I have just returned from 2 days walking in the Lakes and have to so say that the Woolpack was just what was needed. We travelled as two 50 something brothers with a boisterous dalmation. Location was spot on. Staff faultless. Dog friendly an understatement, my boy had the time of his life. Full run of the pub, lazy evening... More

Travelled from the Canary Islands to see Mickey Jupp & Mo Witham play a gig at the Woolpack Inn. Stayed just the one night and have to say that The Woolpack was excellent - a really nice, clean room with en-suite bathroom; the food was great and the staff were just marvellous - very friendly and helpful. Add to that... More

I attended my friend's wedding here over the summer and I think it was the best wedding I've been to. The location is absolutely stunning and the reception from afternoon to early hours of the morning was well catered for and they really looked after everyone. They organised some great treats for the bride and groom and the food just... More

I stayed at the Woolpack for 4 nights and at their sister hotel, the Stanley House, for 7 nights. I found them both well-suited to my needs as a walker in Eskdale with no transport of my own. The Woolpack is good for Upper Eskdale and the Stanley is on the 'Ratty' railway line so is good for mid- and... More

We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend in order to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday and had a wonderful time. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the room was perfect (I especially liked the hot bath after coming in from a walk) and the food was always good (my husband would like to recommend the full English... I recently got married at st catherines church in eskdale and had the reception at the woolpack. We have visited a couple of times in the last year and felt that this would be the perfect venue bearing in mind all the different considerations such as the amazing location, value for money and the wonderful mix of cosy country pub... Had roman platter for 2 to start, arrived with 3 knives/forks and 3 servings? Tasted nice, nothing special, little confused collection of bits. Pizzas, however, cor. Excellent! Lovely crispy base, maybe slightly too much cheese on the Toscana, the Eduardos was very light, full marks to the chef! Will definitely return to try other pizzas. Cowmire cider was excellent too!... The Woolpack catered for my son's wedding. The food was fabulous (the fish cooked to perfection, not easy for a large number), the welcome wonderful, the staff really entered into the occasion. We were able to decorate the room with their help, and they were enthusiastic as they served efficiently. It was very special. Thank you. This Inn is in... More

We recently stayed at The Woolpack as guests for our friends wedding. What a wonderful stay we had! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they couldn't do enough for us throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable and inkeeping with the building's character. The food we sampled whilst there (breakfast, wedding breakfast and evening meals) was superb; local produce... More

wonderfully relaxing stay at the Woolpack Inn. Great surroundings, welcoming bar and wood burner, dinner watching Rugby Beague and most importantly fab gluten free food without pre-ordering anything. Loved the full English Brekkie, gluten free bread and sausages! and a friendly welcome from 'Wooly' .......doesn't get any better! Thank you so much
