Been here for three times now. The first two times in 2011/2013 the food was amazing, the staff friendly and the atmosphere Nice. So I looked forward to some good food again. But this time the food was not so good. It took about an hour before we got our starters (and some of our company even had to wait... More

We walked here from the campsite we were staying for our evening meal just in time for early bird special, we got starters and Mains for 2 of us for 20pound and it was really well cooked food. Staff were really pleasant and efficient, would definitely go back

We spent 3 nights here last week and totally enjoyed our stay . The location was spectacular with stunning views all around which was why we choose to stay here. We were made to feel very welcome and all the staff were very friendly and helpful without been over the top . We found the food to be very good... More

Having jogged down the valley after a long walk to reach this pub before they stopped serving food, I was not wildly impressed to be told, at five minutes to nine, that the chef had packed up for the night. This was despite the menu indicating that food was available until 9pm. I was not the only customer disappointed that... More

I'll start with the good things about this bar/pub as that will be nice and quick: 1) The food was okay - I ordered fish and chips, and apart from some soggy batter, it tasted OK. 2) Location - this pub/bar is set in a stunning part of the Lake District. It is hard to fault the location of this... More

park at the wool pack Inn from where we were going out walking for the day in the eskdale valley. we were asked to leave car keys otherwise we would have to park someplace else. we reluctantly agreed and there wasn't a problem. on returning from our walk we ate and drank and enjoyed our time. I was asked to... More

Visited this nicely located pub restaurant twice in the last month After our first experience we were singing its praises to friends and family and encouraged them to give it a try Unfortunately when they didn't seem to voice their own experience quite as favourably as ours we visited again this weekend and sadly we were very disappointed. The place... More

3 nights here whilst adding to our list of Wainrights. Great atmosphere and ideal for walkers and others involved in outdoor pursuits. Friendly and extremely helpful staff in particular Padington who took my wet boots home to dry on the Aga! It takes determination and some skill to negotiate the pass to reach the Woolpack in particular Hardknott Pass.

Our first impression of the WoolPack after walking the Hardknott Pass in a white-out was hallelujah! Lovely hotel, beer tent set up, lots of people having fun. Sat straight down to a couple of pints and a reminisce of our arduous hike. Checked into our rooms and was surprised to find that one of the bathrooms for our ensuite twin... More

This Inn varies between a 2* & 4* Hotel. Our room was a 2*, The food was a 3*, but the location and bar areas are both 4*. We ate breakfasts there on 3 of the 4 mornings. We ate one meal there on the first night which was ok. but there are better pubs nearby offering greater variety and... More
