We had such a lovely time at this great inn. Staff really were friendly, there was a fun mix of guests all obviously relaxed and enjoying themselves, and having our little dog with us worked very well. The bed was very comfortable, the whole inn was warm and clean, the setting is brilliant. We will be going back!

We visited the beautiful Boot for a Lab retreat with 31 of us. The Woolpack Inn and the affiliated Stanley House provided accommodation, catering and work space. The dinners were excellent and the staff were extremely accommodating, friendly and helpful. Getting shuttled from one place to the other in their army truck was great fun and very convenient. We were... More

It's got so much to offer. A trad bar, a cooler bar, a massive projector for the rugby, a wicked little pizza oven. Great crack, great beers. It's not easy to get to being at the bottom of the Hard Knott pass but that makes it all the better.

The staff here were excellent, everyone was enthusiastic and a great deal of effort goes in to provide a real reason not to go anywhere else. From the clean and tidy room to the food and the beer the Woolpack was a great choice for our walking weekend.

Dropped in here for dinner on our last night camping in the area. Wish we'd visited earlier in our stay. Fantastically welcoming place with a great menu. Couldn't fault the service, atmosphere or the food. Will definitely be back here the next time we are in the area.

I stayed here with my work colleagues as Stu P said in an earlier review. We arrived after dark and to say it rained that night was an understatement! As it was dark we couldn't really see the setting but the warm welcome in the pub by the wood burner was very welcoming and the steak pie was awesome along... More

We went to the Woolpack for an evening meal with friends and family. The bar staff are friendly and the beer was very good. However, the meal was distinctly average. Although the pizza was reasonably good the Sunday roast was not. The quality was more like a School dinner than a Sunday treat.

The pub offers a good range of home made foods. The homemade pizzas are fantastic on the homemade base. Plenty of places to walk from here for people of all abilities. Looking forward to the cider an sausage festival this month.

Stayed at rowan bank cottage with a group of friends which was next door to this handy pub :) good choice of beers and ciders at a reasonable price. food was tasty with plenty of choice. would recommend the pizza's and you had the option of having that as takeaway. The pool table was a great addition to this pub... More

Another selection excellent bar meals enjoyed by everyone. Opted for the Pig Burger with Chips cooked in dripping, washed down with a couple of pints. Love fire keeping evening chill at bay. Everything excellent and enjoyed by all.
