We stayed two nights and found The Boot very comfortable, welcoming with good breakfasts and reasonably priced meal options. Located in western Lake District with easy access to excellent walks. Staff were friendly and nothing too much trouble.

Lovely, friendly pub where we stayed for 2 nights. Enjoyed food both at breakfast and dinner (nice specials such as caramelised figs and moussaka. Great for walking to Burnmoor Tarn and on to Bowerhouse Pub through Miterdale, then catching the Ratty back to Boot. If you do go on the Ratty, the shop and café there should not be missed!

Have eaten here numerous times over the years & always been pleased. Most recent visit this week, beautiful day, parked up, chatted to very nice lady cleaning the pub which she obviously does well as the loos were spotless & smelt lovely! Chatted about going for a walk then returning for lunch & she joked we could take the pub... More

Lovely pub with friendly staff, good food and beer. We were staying in self catering cottages about a minute's walk away so ended most of our day's walking with a drink in the very pleasant beer garden, admiring the stunning views. Six of us had dinner one evening and were all impressed with the quality of the food. As a... More

Being a regular visitor to the Boot Inn I have more frequently been dissapointed by the cleanliness and quality of food and service particularly in more recent times. I am glad to say that I left last weekend with a whole new perception of the place after experiencing a welcome that made me feel that my custom was valued (... More

Very friendly and welcoming pub. Walked from fisherground campsite and it was definitely worth the walk - much more friendly and welcoming since we visited here in April. The new owners made us feel welcome and our dogs loved playing with the resident dogs Charlie and Bronson. Looking forward to visiting again in the next few months.

Visited here 4 years ago and left after not feeling welcome and ignored by staff. What a difference a change of landlord and landlady has made, warm and inviting, friendly and with a very happy atmosphere. Staff were all amazing and so welcoming. Popped in for lunches and dinners and the food is exceptional, portion sizes are enormous! Lovely local... More

My wife and I and our family dog coco stayed for 3 nights and I have nothing but praise for this little gem of place. We arrived on a Sunday evening and had probably one of the best Sunday roasts I have come across. The rooms are very comfortable with tea and coffee tray with biscuits fluffy towels and quality... Having just returned from staying at the Boot Inn I have to say what a fab place it is! The staff are very friendly and make you feel really welcome. The rooms are lovely with lots of little extras ! Breakfast was plenty and very tasty. The food was excellent as we decided to eat there rather than go anywhere... More

Hubby and I stayed for one night and found the rooms superb, clean and very comfortable. Views are breathtaking! The food is home cooked and really delicious and the hosts very friendly and very helpful. Fantastic area for walking and lots to see. Definitely on our list to visit again soon and I can certainly recommend it.
