we were stopping at a local camp site and was recommended this pub and what more can I say. roaring log fire, good hearty food and fine cask ales and to round it all off dog friendly. The staff in here were great and couldnt do emough to help.

A lovely pub in a lovely setting. Food good. Accommodation standard. Best of all they don't have sky sport's to annoy you. Definitely the best in the area. Just don't follow a sat nav to get there. Over hardknott pass.

8 of us have just returned from a visit to Boot. We visited the boot inn at around 5pm for some great cask ales that there was a great choice to choose from. As 8 of us were staying in Eskdale we found the Boot Inn on our travels and decided to enjoy the tranquility and try the beer ( real ales thoroughly recommended) and have something to eat we tried a variety of foods and they were beautiful. We stayed at the Boot Inn between Xmas and New Year last year and tried to contact them again for this year but the website was 'under construction'. Lovely place, just how a pub should be. Surrounded by beautiful scenery. Good food - lamb hot pot with red cabbage was delicious. Lots of choice on the menu. Having just returned from a 3 night break at the Boot Inn, we feel relaxed , well fed and ready for a busy week ahead. The staff are friendly and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. A Beautiful Inn. Log fire, friendly staff, excellent food ( Chicken breast, stuffed with homemade black pudding :-*) ), real ale, comfortable room, hearty full English breakfast. Lovely long, or short walks, on the doorstep. ....... and a Minature Steam Train to Boot !

Stopped for a bite to eat, fantastic food, roast beef and yorkshire puddings, if you are in the area its a must. Lovely people and good food at a good price. Perfect place when out walking vegetarians also catered for.
