We had a one night break at the Boot Inn a few weeks ago, and have to say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Yes as others say the rooms may be a little tired but were absolutely spotlessly clean, and I do like a good clean bathroom. The food was yummy and I can recommend the moussaka which came with... Really friendly, atmospheric, locally orientated, fab little gem. Great selection of real ales, good wines for the wife And wifi - (and don't say it's not a consideration these days) Staff are awesome and we are going back tomorrow to try The food

We live in West Cumbria, about 30 minutes drive away, and like to remind ourselves periodically how lucky we are living close to the Western Lakes and the wonderful Eskdale valley. Having graduated to the status of Grumpy Old Man some years ago, myself and my better half have simple needs - a comfortable room, good wholesome home-cooked food and... More

Haven't stayed at The Boot so can't comment on the rooms, however have eaten here regularly since taken over in September 2014. Food is amazing and standard consistent whoever is in the kitchen, can honestly say have never had a bad meal here. Nothing is too much trouble. Staff and owners friendly and welcoming whether the pub is empty or... More

Our fourth mini break at the Boot Inn was fantastic. Every time we go it just gets better and better. The friendly service and warm welcome as well as the fabulous food and great range of beers made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. All the staff are friendly and thoughtful. We also found the route into Eskdale from Duddon Bridge... More

Spent one night here at the end of April and was very impressed. We arrived on a Wednesday night to find we were the only 4 people staying which was a bit of a shock. How wrong could I be, the staff particularly the guy from Manchester were friendly and went out of there way to be helpful. The food... More

We came to the village of boot last weekend for an overnight stay. The bar area is lovely and welcoming as was the girl who greeted us upon arrival - even the dog got a fuss. We made our way up to our room and were somewhat disappointed in the standard. Whilst appreciating the boot inn is dog friendly I... More

Hi there, Thanks for the review. We are very aware that the rooms need some TLC, admittedly some are better than others at the moment. After the summer we will be attending to as many of their faults as possible, due to the very seasonal nature of the business we cannot afford to close off rooms at peak times for... More

I definitely recommend The Boot Inn for food and drink and I am sure it would be a fabulous place to stay although I wasn't fortunate enough to be staying. The pub has been done up without losing it's character. There is ample choice on the menu and everything is freshly cooked, would definitely recommend the Lamb Shank! Great service... More

Stayed here for 3 nights for a long weekend walking. Comfortable rooms if a little tired in places, especially bathroom. It was clean and tidy and did the job as a place to change and sleep, and with a nice bar and areas to eat downstairs, as well as plenty of outdoor seating, there's not much need to stay in... More
