We visited the Boot Inn several times during our stay at the Eskdale Camping and Caravanning Site which was only a hundred yards away. Very useful for beer after strenuous hillwalking. Had one lunch and one evening meal here both of which were first class and we could bring our dogs too. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The Robinsons... More

For an exciting arrival come over via the Hardknott Pass - you'll need a stiff drink afterwards ! This is a pub B & B with bags of character and breathtaking hill views from the conservatory style restaurant. Food was very good and service great. The rooms are spacious with en suite too. We'd go back again (and we may... More

We visited this pub the first time for lunch after taking the little train from Ravenglass. Whilst the weather for June was rather cool, the welcome & atmosphere in this place could not have been warmer. Sampling a number of their real ales & 2 of their hot sandwiches went down a treat whilst sat alongside a lovely log fire... More

After 15 miles of walking, frankly anywhere to eat, drink and sleep would have seemed bliss. The food was wholesome and well-cooked, the drink flowed well and the staff were friendly. The 4 dogs behind the bar gave the place a homely feel and we had a relaxing evening. The room I stayed in was very small for a double,... More

We have stayed here before and loved so returned to celebrate a friends birthday at the beer festival, yes there were a few problems that did get sorted out and Stewart and Anita definitely worked hard for their first beer festival. The average score is given due to staff attitude, the bar manager's to be precise, who after I queried... More

Stay here for the Boot Beer festival. I know it was the landlords first festival in Boot as they are new to The Boot. The pub itself is nice and the rooms are ok but as they are aware need a bit of an update but they were clean and tidy. The reason for not scoring higher was mainly the... More

Stayed at the local campsite and visited the pub every day. Always a warm welcome and best fish & chips we have had in a long time. Wizard was the best real ale, after we tried them all of course! Will be back next time we are in the Lakes.

We had a one night break at the Boot Inn a few weeks ago, and have to say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Yes as others say the rooms may be a little tired but were absolutely spotlessly clean, and I do like a good clean bathroom. The food was yummy and I can recommend the moussaka which came with...
