In Cumbria visiting relatives, and saw this place. Very friendly place to stay; breakfast was excellent, and the village is a gem; indeed we regretted not having longer to do more exploring. It was very dog friendly (always a bonus) and the food in the pub was very good and plenty of it. The only downside was that the bed... More

The Boot 7 Shoe claims to be "The Best". In terms of atmosphere and customer service they are up there but the steak was very average and the mushroom stroganoff lacked flavor. Not great value for money sadly. We would probably not go back. We did not stay but I imagine the owners would look after residents very well.

For around 500 years this seriously quaint pub has provided hospitality. Licensees and staff don't come much better in giving a genuinely warm and caring service than this well run establishment. Their menu is varied enough for most people and the portions they serve make the food excellent value for money. To avoid disappointment it's advisable to book a table... More

We just stayed one night on a return trip from the Highlands but would have liked to have stayed longer. Greystoke is a lovely village with friendly locals and an interesting history. Our room was superb, full of character and very comfortable. Our dogs were made welcome and there is a lovely large garden for those 'late and early walkies'... More

Pub was recommended to us and I could see why. The beer was excellent and there was a great pub atmosphere. My friend had Fish ( haddock) and chips which were good. The Hot Chilli Thai stir fry failed the basic description test it was not hot and not even mild - I think the chef forgot to put in... More

The Boot and Shoe is a traditional country Inn. This warm and comfortable Inn is well run and the staff were very friendly and helpful during our 4 night stay. The food is very good and breakfast sets you up for the day. Dogs are very welcome and the bar was busy with locals and visitors. They serve Doombar and... More

This is a very nice traditional pub in a beautiful Cumbrian village. The lunch menu is functional rather than extensive but gives a fair choice. Prices are on the high side for a pub meal but not over the top. One thing I would say is that we were VERY disappointed in what they describe as home made "chips". They... More
