My room was nice, good size and nice and warm. Bathroom basic but plenty of hot water and very clean. Problem is the public areas which were old and, sorry to say, a bit smelly. Can't comment on food as only had a light breakfast but colleagues fry looked decent enough. Friendly staff. If you just need a stopover for... More

Great staff, rooms were very strange. No hot water in our room, had to shower in another room. We were told that, "we didn't think you would need to shower" (that is why we were given the room with no hot water.....go figure.

Stayed for one night. Staff were lovely, very helpful and excellent service. The building used to be a school house and looks fantastic from the outside. Inside the communal rooms and eating areas could do with a bit of updating, but this shouldn't really put anyone off, there's nothing at real fault here. The room we were given as a... More

I'll be open and honest and point out good and bad points about my stay at the Grove Hotel. Bed & Breakfast £69 per room (double) The hotel was previously an old school, nice to look at from the outside, plenty of parking at the rear and side. Behind the Hotel is a church yard/cemetery, my 2nd room looked out... More

The hotel is in a converted school, one set of door have got 'girls entrance' moulded into the brickwork above them. Brings back memories of my own primary school with separate entrances for girls and boys. I have to admit I felt a little guilty going in through the girls door. The interior felt dated and worn, the words 'faded... More

The building is an old converted primary school. The staff work hard and the food is reasonably priced, plentiful and varied. There are special lower prices for meals for senior citizens. Overall, this is a pleasant place to stay and there is a bar where food is served in the evenings. Some of the guests seems to be business people... More

The staff were very polite and even prepared breakfast a little early on the weekend since we were leaving early in the morning for an outing. The facilities though are a little dated, the wall paper is peeling in certain places and interiors look pretty old. The hot water in the shower was available only in the morning and it... More

Stayed here for two nights whilst visiting friends. Hotel is very run down and smelt dirty on arrival (stale cooking smells) but we were greeted by a lovely lady who went out of her way to make us welcome. Room very dated and pillows horrendously uncomfy. Bed large and room spacious tho. Bathroom had mouldy grout and a screen that... More

Rooms are spacious and clean. All the staff are so friendly. Had a mixed grill to die for. Early breakfast a bonus when I have an early start (7.00am). Good size Tv in room . Definitely put this one on my return to list.
