A great first stop on the coast to Coast walk although not a regular stop it was well worthwhile! Lovely friendly staff, who were very helpful. The evening Food was very nice and the room was more than comfortable enough! Lovely surroundings! I would most definitely return!

we enjoyed our stay. the room was nice and good size. clean and tidy. We enjoyed having a drink and dinner at the pub at the ground floor, which also has a big court yard with sitting area by the small river that runs nearby. breakfast was really nice as well. the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great stay, made to feel very welcome and looked after very well even though there was a wedding function on! The General Manager Alan was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble - even getting us strawberries to go with the champagne at 1am!! Can't get better than that, would highly recommend and looking forward to returning very soon.

My husband and I stayed one night following our wedding on the 4 th August 2014 We had stayed 2 years previously on our first break away together. Sadly we were disappointed. We were given a small, cramped family room facing onto the main road and were unable to swap another room. The room was disappointing and clouded our stay... More

Spent a wonderful weekend at my nephew's Wedding Party - and it was a wonderful venue to celebrate such a joyful experience; everyone was smiling and departures on Sunday morning were quite tearful - no-one wanted to tear themselves away! The hotel staff & management were welcoming without being obtrusive; the setting is wonderful; the room I had (an executive... More

I stayed in this hotel for a few nights while on business. The hotel certainly takes you back in time. The ground's were lovely to sit in and relax and are very well maintained. The hotel itself might not suit all due to not having all the mod cons, the signal on my phone was none existant and no wifi. My... More

We stayed here at the start of my husband's mad 3 day cycle event which was kicking off at 6am in Whitehaven the following morning. To my amazement the hotel called me before our stay and asked if we were part of the cycling event. As they had so many staying they started breakfast at 4:30am for all of us.... More

We stayed here in mid-June for a weekend break (2 nights). After a delightful journey through the spectacular, sun-kissed Lake District, we arrived early-evening at the hotel to be greeted by a friendly receptionist who provided information about the hotel's facilities, meal times, etc., Our first floor room, in the adjoining 2-storey annex, was clean, spacious and comfortable with adequate...
