Ok outside needs a good re-paint but inside is very presentable. Greeted by Jeanette who was very pleasant and helpful and advised we had been upgraded which is always a good start. We had been given this two day stay as a Christmas present by two of our daughters which consisted of an evening meal on one of the nights... More

We had a lovely Room with wooden beams and mansion style decor, The Room was spacious, they had Dogs next to our room, but they were the very quiet, can't say much about the owners, because the rooms are Joined through a door, I was kept away half the Night by someone snoring like a freight train rumbling through, I... We stayed at this hotel as part of a groupon deal - but we're not made to feel second class (as is sometimes the case with voucher deals). This hotel is old and I agree with some other reviews that it is not 100% up to date on decorating ..... But then if that is the feel you look for,... More

As you pull in to the drive the appearance doesn't really fill you with confidence. The hotel has a tired tatty look to it. On check in the process is quick and easy although it is lacking a bit of information, breakfast times, dining room location etc. A smile wouldn't have hurt neither. The building does have quite a few... More

Stayed here for 2 nights at start on April on Business. The Hotel is lovely old building but very tired and old fashioned. Staff are very friendly and breakfasts were lovely. As travelling on Business I was disappointed that the Wi Fi was down and unable to use. Could do with a makeover and bringing into the 21st Century.

I booked a weekend away as a surprise destination for our anniversary. Despite the inclement weather the entrance and walk to the reception area was inviting. The welcome was jovial and warm, the manager came through and asked if we had had a good journey and had we come far? There was a history of the house on display which... More

Our hearts dropped a little as we approached the hotel, first impressions were of a slightly shabby exterior. But our welcome was warm and the public rooms well decorated. Our room was superficially fine but closer examination revealed the absence of sufficient tlc and attention to detail. The bar served locally sourced real ale ( a definite plus) and our... More

The hotel looked very shabby & unloved from outside, the lovely urns & planters would have looked beautiful if someone had spent a few pounds and stocked them with spring bulbs, especially as they cater for weddings. Inside had character & charm & we had a warm welcome from the lady receptionist. We chose this hotel from a groupon deal... More

We have just returned from a two night groupon deal. Fantastic! First impression was that it's a bit run down and what have we done. The warm welcome from the lady on the reception soon changed everything. We had arrived later than expected but were still offered the afternoon tea. This was in the package, we could have done without... More

I arranged a three night stay at this hotel over the internet to celebrate my wife's birthday. It was a @Walking in the Lakes' package where you get two packed lunces which were excellent The room was an 'Executive Double Room'. I booked through Bespoke Hotel's central website and was promised to receive a booking confirmation, which I didn't and... More
