We travelled to the Lake District with friends and their small dog. The hotel is in a beautiful setting although not with views of the lakes. Jamie the manager and the two waiters could not have done more for us during our three night stay. The food was excellent and although we had not informed the hotel prior to our... More

My wife and I have been going to the Leathes Head for around 20 years. It's always been great. Quiet. Restful. A Real Treat. We have just returned from our annual visit for our Wedding Anniversary. We were again very impressed with the developments and improvements implemented by Jamie and Jane. Building on the strengths of the previous managers. Adding... More

Lovely small hotel with great hosts, room with views, spotlessly clean and very quiet. Had dinner here, food was excellent, chocolate bar pudding was to die for! Enjoyed relaxing in the spa bath, with bubbles and mood lighting, great way to finish off our weeks holiday. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was spectacular and we can't wait to return. We were touring the lakes and spent a weekend here in June and loved everything about it! The hotel is run by a young couple who are fantastic and very friendly! They are always there for you and they have a great small team. We had dinner as well and... More

My husband and I had another great wining and dining experience at LHH! The fabulous tea garden, which has been added since our last visit , was fantastic! The hotel has a really relaxing aura about it from check in to check out. Our room had the most amazing spa bath at the window overlooking the frolicking lambs and stunning views... More

Have spent another great week at the LHH in the sublime location of Borrowdale. We enjoyed the same welcome, hospitality, good food and comfort as last year - but with better weather! The hotel is located at the entrance to the side-valley of Troutdale which leads up to Kings How and Grange Fell about which Alfred Wainwright advised visitors to... More

We visted Leathes Head this weekend on Saturday 31st May. We had not been for a couple of years and wanted to see how it was now since being taken over. The answer is easy - extremely good! The refurbishments have been executed really well and have enhanced the character without sanitising it. There is no trace of the dreaded... More

We stayed here for one night while walking the Cumbria Way. After a 14 mile day it was great to arrive and have a really friendly welcome and to be shown to our lovely room. The best thing for my tired legs was the stunning bathroom with spa bath. This was ideal to ease the muscles. The rainfall walk in... More
