Booked a one night stay at Lodore Falls. Unsurprisingly due to the stunning location, the hotel is pricey. Pros- Location, excellent canoeing/kayaking facilities nearby, well-furnished rooms, public areas with comfy sofas (pre reserve one as many will be reserved following dinner especially those near to the bar) Cons- Paper thin wall means that you might as well be sharing a... We stayed in a lake facing room in July, the hotel it's self is very dated and could do with updating particularly considering the price they charge per night. It's a pet friendly hotel there are distinct smells of damp dog in the corridors, not particularly attractive to non pet owners. We had a package deal which included dinner, bed... More

Visited for lunch. Three beautiful courses. Food and service excellent. Goats cheese and melon starter. Both had lamb main and a fabulous asiette of deserts. Reasonable priced wine and views wonderful.

We had a great time here when we spent the night and had dinner, bed and breakfast. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The food really was excellent both at dinner and at breakfast. The hotel was smart and clean throughout including the pool and gym areas. I would definitely stay again.

This is a very high calibre hotel in the beautiful and romantic valley of Borrowdale, one of England's most stunning valleys. Based on the shores of Derwent Water, you can sit in the bar and look out over the lake and grand dome of Skiddaw. Inside, the rooms are of a high quality, great night's sleep and good level of... This is a fantastic hotel - very comfortable, spotlessly clean and we were made to feel welcome from the time we arrived - even though it was very busy because there was a wedding party going on. The bedrooms are furnished with very good quality furnishings and there is plenty of storage space. The facilities are good with a gym,... More

I totally agree with Geoff W in his assessment of the Lodore Hotel. Excellent rooms, clean as a new pin and comfortable. The standard of food in the restaurant is second to non and for a hotel it is remarkable. Plus, the E. European staff are quick, efficient and extremely friendly when you engage them in conversation and enquire how... More

My daughter got married at the Lodore on Wednesday - the Wedding co-ordinators Donna and Erin, were absolutely lovely and so helpful. They arranged the package just as my daughter and son-in-law wanted and it was the most amazing and magical day. My thanks to, to Hans - Deputy Manager who could not have been more helpful, If you want... More

Booked the Spring/Summer Revive Day offer for £35 which included back massage, afternoon tea and use of all facilities (pools, hot tub, sauna, gym). Excellent customer service from all staff we met. Lovely clean facilities! Thoroughly relaxing day, lovely massage and delicious food. Only downside would be the rather small changing facilities, which could benefit from more private individual changing... More
