Elevated location on a working farm enjoying views to lake on one side and hillside views to the other. Comfortable room with ensuite in house reportedly build in 1600s . Very nice breakfast however you may need to be patient.

Beautiful and friendly place to stay. Anne is friendly and helpful. The rooms are great, and the breakfast is perfect before a day of exploring. The views are breathtaking. Being in a quiet space away from everyone else is quite the nice experience, with the added benefit of being on a working farm with sheep, cows, chickens, ducks, cats, and... More

We have just returned from our first stay at Ashness Farm, and we had a fantastic time. We stayed in Cat Bells, which was a really nice room. The bathroom is fantastic and has a great big bath, which always had plenty of hot water. The views from the B&B are lovely. It's definitely worth going left out of the... More

Six friends had our most recent stay at Ashness farm over Easter 2014 after a 14 year gap. The bedrooms has been refurbished to a high standard with all rooms having a fabulous view and good en suite facilities. There were additional, thoughtful touches such as binoculars for bird watching and additional toiletries available for a small donation. What hadn't... More

We spent three nights in the 'Catbells' room. The facilities were excellent; a nice big bed and well equipped en suite. There was lots of piping hot water which was perfect after long days on the fells. The breakfasts were filling and perfectly tasty. The location could hardly be better. I suspect we will be back.

It was our second stay at Ashness Farm and it wasn't dissapointing. The property has a lot of characters and we loved the living room with lovely fire place and great view from the windows. In our first stay, we booked Maiden Moor and in our second stay we booked Catbells room. Maiden Moor was rather small, and we definitely... More

We had a lovely stay at Ashness, having stayed there before some years ago, but very little has changed. There are wonderful views of Derwentwater and Catbells from the front of the farm. The farm has 'olde world' charm and the bedrooms and en suites very comfortable. Anne cooks a wonderful 'full English' and there is plenty of choice of... More

Ashness Farm was a great place to stay with my fiancé and our friend while we were in the Keswick area. Lots of great walks right from the farm and we had no trouble staying in this rural location without a car as taxis are less than £7 to Keswick and are all familiar with the location of the farm.... We found this B&B via a listing on the National Trust web site. Owned by the National trust, it is apparently looked after by the current owners on their behalf. Set in the hills of Cumbria, only a 5-10 minute drive south from the town of Keswick, in the hillside overlooking Derwent water. We opted to stay for one night... More

What a beautiful and memorable B&B this is. This B&B is a 750 acre working sheep farm (over 400 sheep) located in one of the most beautiful areas of England, The Lake District. The room was large, modern and comfortable. The breakfast was great. My wife and I were on a 30 day pleasure trip across England, Scotland and Wales... More
