We spent five nights at this lovely farm above Derwent Water. Breathtaking views from our clean and well equipped room. Lots of animals around the farm will add to the experience of living close to nature. Water streams in the farm will make a soothing sound. The farm is managed by Anne, a caring host who prepairs a lovely breakfast... More

What a gorgeous setting. Loved being out in the countryside with all the animals. Great room with a beautiful view. Anne was very gracious and funny. Makes a great breakfast also. Best bathtub on our trip. The narrow roads are worth the effort. Photographic heaven. Highly recommend!

We stay here every time we visit the area. Ann not only runs the place she is also a Farmer. Beautiful setting, great rooms with comfy beds. Delicious fresh food. Loads of animals for anyone with children. Very friendly internet access limited which is a blessed relief if you want to get away from it all.

It is an exceptional experience, staying at this 16th century working farm in The Lake District. Situated high on the fell, the farm enjoys grand vistas of two lakes and neighboring farms. Our host was quick to please and provided a delicious English fry up each morning. This vegetarian greatly appreciated the veggie sausage! The best I've had. Just step... More

It was a little dicey the first time over the Ashness Falls bridge - we couldn't see road over the hood of the car, but having done it once, we had confidence for all the other times we went over. And if we had let that stop us, we would have missed a very special part of our Great Britain... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. I took my daughter and we stayed in the Twin bedded room. It was a little cramped with two large suitcases, but the view was beautiful. Breakfast was good, although I usually skip breakfast at home. If you are not first at the tables, the wait can be a while as Ann does everything... More

Elevated location on a working farm enjoying views to lake on one side and hillside views to the other. Comfortable room with ensuite in house reportedly build in 1600s . Very nice breakfast however you may need to be patient.

Beautiful and friendly place to stay. Anne is friendly and helpful. The rooms are great, and the breakfast is perfect before a day of exploring. The views are breathtaking. Being in a quiet space away from everyone else is quite the nice experience, with the added benefit of being on a working farm with sheep, cows, chickens, ducks, cats, and... More

We have just returned from our first stay at Ashness Farm, and we had a fantastic time. We stayed in Cat Bells, which was a really nice room. The bathroom is fantastic and has a great big bath, which always had plenty of hot water. The views from the B&B are lovely. It's definitely worth going left out of the... More

Six friends had our most recent stay at Ashness farm over Easter 2014 after a 14 year gap. The bedrooms has been refurbished to a high standard with all rooms having a fabulous view and good en suite facilities. There were additional, thoughtful touches such as binoculars for bird watching and additional toiletries available for a small donation. What hadn't... More
