Myself and a friend stayed overnight Sat/Sun 26/27th July 2014. We enjoyed an excellent stay at a well appointed hotel. The staff and food were excellent. On the Sat evening we ate in the hotel restaurant with food and service first class. We would not hesit6ate to return to this hotel again.

If you want a quiet break in a scenic, unspoilt, uncrowded area of England, this is the place. Alston is on the Pennine Way and is an ideal base for exploring the whole region between Carlisle and Newcastle, either by car or bike or on foot. We only had two days but managed to fit in half-day visits to Housesteads... More

A superb menu in the restaurant which made me decide I'd want to come back for a few days next time instead of just one night while on the Pennine Way. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and hospitable. Overall a really enjoyable hotel to stay in.

We've just come back from a two night living social deal break and will stay at Alston House Hotel again. Our room was beautiful with a large comfy bed and a very grand bathroom. There was a lovely garden and having not been to Alston we were blown away by the beauty of the area. The food was excellent and... More

This was the 2nd night of our first ever C2C. My son and I had hoped to go further but the weather was so bad we had to stop earlier than planned. Very tired and extremely wet we could not have been made more welcome. Our bikes were quickly and safely stored away and we were installed in a lovely... More

We have just returned from a 2 day living social break with parents. The hotel itself is very comfy although it could do a little bit of a makeover in places. Our parents bedroom had signs of a damp patch, and the stair carpet could do with replacing. I must say though that our bathroom in room 5 was amazing.... More
