Very friendly welcome, lovely building. Pleased to be given a four poster bed when we had booked a standard room. Bathroom in need of updating but functional with nice big towels. If you would like to eat in the attached inn, you'll need to book. We found all tables reserved and ate in town instead. Breakfast fine.

Stayed for 1 night August 2014. Andy and Zoe have recently taken over management here and nothing is too much trouble for them. The hotel has a wonderful old world charm with large comfortable rooms with everything you need as well as a four poster bed! We ate a delicious hearty meal in the bar and a fabulous breakfast in... We stayed at the hotel recently for the weekend to go walking nearby to Alston. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent, especially the Cumberland sausage at breakfast time. The hotel is very nice, oldie worldie but needs updating a little, especially the gardens and some of the decor. We would still recommend the hotel... More

Spent two nights in nent hall this week and had a fantastic time! A warm and friendly welcome with excellent customer service. We stayed in room 19 which had a lovely four poster and lovely furniture. The bathroom was huge and it had a nice view. It does need a spot of paint but was spotlessly clean! Breakfast was great-... This is a wonderful, place to stay. The hosts where excellent and could not do enough to make our stay wonderful. The four poster bed sealed it for me. This is not a swish upmarket place but a comfortable welcoming place to stay. We really enjoyed our stay here and wish we had made it longer.

New management had just moved in the day I arrived, they will do well if they treat eveyone like they treated me! Nice basic grub in the bar, comfortable room, if a bit dated. Could do with some repairs or replacement carpets in the dining room, especially by the front window! I am sure the enthusiasm of the new managers... More

A friendly country inn with a great play area for kids with a pub and restaurant attached. You may need to book your evening meal a head as it get full. The room we had was great with a bunk bed area divided off from the bedroom with a curtain. Worked well for us.

Lovely quiet bed and breakfast in a very quiet location of Cumbria. Alston is about 2 miles from Nent Hall but there are some really good walking tracks in the area. The bedrooms are a nice size and the breakfast room is very traditional. New managers are in place and I hope they can get the owner to spend a... More
