Stayed here for two nightsand can honestly say it's been one of best weekends ever. The food was absolutely oiutstanding. We did the seven course taster menu with wines selections as part of our travelzoo offer. Every course was amazing and the wines delicious (although I'm not a wine connosiour by any means you could tell they certainly know a... More

We stayed at the hotel and had booked for their 7 course taster menu, with the wine flight. The food was out of this world and I can understand why they have won so many awards for their food and wine choices. The breakfast was equally as good with such a vast choice. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the... More

Stayed here with friends with a travelzoo offer. The hotel is very remote, 2 miles out of Alston and is approached down a long drive. It doesn't look too impressive from the outside but the staff are really friendly and the rooms are great with nice bathrooms and very comfy beds. There is a bit of decorative upgrading that could... We visited here near the end of November with another couple. My friend and I had just been to our graduation ceremony and wanted to make an occasion of it so we found a deal for B&B and the 7 course taster menu with wine. The approach to the hotel was lovely and we crept up the drive in the... More

We were on our way to the Lakes and decided to tag a 'Travel Zoo' bargain on to our holiday. The offer was for dinner bed and breakfast. The dinner was a 7 course taster menu with wines included. And they let us off the £20.00 Saturday night surcharge because no superior rooms were available. The room was just fine.... More

We chose this lovely hotel to spend our 1st wedding anniversary together for the main reason it is in the middle of nowhere and accepts well behaved dogs. From the moment we pulled up until we were driving away we had a fabulous time. We booked via Groupon and opted for the two night with breakfast both days and the... More

My partner and i stayed here over the weekend. On arrival they had lost our booking... as a result they placed us in a small room when we had booked the master suite with a four poster bed. instead we had a room with stains on the carpet and pubic hair in the sheets. Food was nice... But romantic breakaway...NOT

Just returned from staying at this hotel on an offer which included a 7 course taster menu and a superior bedroom. The approach to this hotel is lovely down a single track (which maybe should have had the pot holes filled in) with sheep in the fields and the river running alongside and the hotel within its own grounds just... We booked a 2 night deal which proved not to be such a good value. The food (but not the drink) on the first night was included in our booking but we had to pay for the food on the second night and it was very expensive. The a la carte is unnecessarily complicated to force guests to pay more.... More
