I actually visited this place back in 2012! yes it did take me a few years to remember to leave a feedback! I visited for the new years day, one of the best stay I ever had from my past years' travelling experience. Beautiful rooms and sceneries, the food is to die for, kind and generous owner. Theres nothing more... More

We stayed in room 1 overlooking the entrance. The bedroom was large and clean. The hotel is a little tired, which suits the character of the house. The windows seem to be in a state of disrepair and there was obvious water ingress in the dining room, with 2 black damp patches where the window meets the carpet. The 7... More

Booked on Amazon local for a Saturday night along with the 7 course tasting menu. Arrived about 3.30 and looked like we were the first. Warm welcome received and a brief review of what would happen that evening before being shown to our room. Room was spacious and clean with all amenities you would expect. We surfaced at about 7... We went on the Amazon deal which included Bed, Breakfast and the tasting menu. The room we were allocated was very spacious, clean and had a wonderful view from the window, the tasting menu was very good and the staff explained every course and the wine selections in detail to us, all staff we encountered were very professional and helpful.... The hotel is situated down a private lane well away from the road. It is so quiet and peaceful with a lovely riverside setting on the River Nent. The only noise I heard was the Blackbirds calling and the Brown Trout jumping in the river! The interior of the hotel is of a long lost era, comfortably furnished throughout with... More

We stayed for one night at this excellent hotel. A pleasant room with a nice view of the garden. It was quiet and peaceful. The evening meal commenced at 7.00pm. for drinks. We were called into the restaurant at 7.30 p.m. for the start of a really superb meal. It was faultless. We were there on an Amazon deal and... More

This hotel is exactly what it classes itself as, a Country House. Yes the first thing you see are some bins, but drive past them and you are in paradise. The owners and staff manage to make you feel that you are staying in a country house rather than a hotel. The public rooms are decorated in period style, luxurious... More

First impressions when you drive up to hotel, is not very welcoming... a large recycling container. The outside of the hotel has seen better days. It was a Grand Hotel in its time but not now. We were given a very warm welcome, & shown to an adequate room but nothing to rave about. Looking out the window on to... More

First impressions are bad, other reviewers have mentioned the rubbish tip on the approach and "GRUMPS" tries to defend it. It would take very little money to screen it and all would be well. The first room we were offered(room11)was grim, smelly with a view of the worst maintained roof you could imagine.the whole building needs thousands spending on it. However the... More

This hotel as others have said as comfortable as an old slipper .It is not modern if that is what you want would suggest you... More
