Staying in these 3 lovely cottages, all absolutely spotless and well equipped.very close to all amenities, shops pubs and a lovely restaurant we ate in on Friday night called Alston House. We are just back from a week in Alston. We were in the Naworth apartment, one of three apartments the owners have restored to very high standard. The house was well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful and gave excellent information on the local area. The directions we were given to a beautiful spot... We stayed in Sowerberry Cottage - it is a lovely cottage, well furnished with a wonderful attention to detail. Great views from the balcony and the Wi-Fi was a real bonus too. I'd strongly recommend this as somewhere to stay.

These are well designed townhouses or masionettes in the old quarter of Alston. They are convenient for shops, restaurants and other amenities in Alston. Alston is a remote town in the northern Pennines, but all facilities are contained therein. A quite spectacular setting for those interested in quiet countryside walks, important historical sites (Roman remains everywhere!), a railway being restored... More

We stayed in the Sowerberry apartment. No complaints about anything, Great layout and fully equipped with everything you would need self catering. You can tell the owners did not cut corners with the refurbishment. Alston is a lovely little town, Sowerberry is right on the doorstep of all the local amenities. Would return!

We stayed in the sowerberry apartment and it was fantastic. The rooms were beautiful, the beds were extremely comfortable. Really couldn't ask for more, the kitchen had everything you could possibly need. We stayed 3 nights, would have loved to stay for longer. The owners live next door and were very helpful. Our only issue was the wifi, it was... More

We went to walk and cycle, and the time we were there did include and major thunderstorm/ flash flood, so you would think this might have dampened our enjoyment. In fact, we thought Alston was brilliant, and the apartment was lovely. A sympathetically renovated building with appropriate knobbly bits in the plasterwork to remind you this was not a new...
