Stayed at the Alvanley Arms Hotel in May 09. It was ok , a bit shabby and in need of a spruce up. Dont mean the actual building, but the furniture and decor in the rooms is straight from the 1970s. Curtains are so thin that the light wakes you up as soon as it starts to get bright. Not... more
We have stayed here twice now, the last time being in July. Its a great place to stay if like us you are going to Chester races for the day. The Alvanley Arms Inn is conveniently located at Cotebrook near Tarporley on the A49 and this concerned me initially because we were in a room overlooking the road but were not bothered with overnight vehicle noise. The Alvanley Arms is a traditional British pub with a very good restaurant. It sits on a main road but it is not busy at night. The rooms are all en-siute and are decorated to a pleasing standard all being very clean. There are TV's of course but not with satellite, but why watch TV in your room when there... more
