We came here as a wedding gift from friends with a Groupon deal so I can't comment on value for money however, we did have a lovely stay. The hotel is way out in the countryside and is a lovely quaint old fashioned hotel. The room was large and had modern decor and had everything you would expect from a... More

Stayed here with my husband for are wedding anniversary, checked in at 2pm went along to restaurant to get a little lunch but on a Sunday they only have a very small poor selection of food,so decided to eat out. Came back later to find bar managed by night porter and drinks could only be billed to room. After 7pm... More

Stayed at the Wild Boar for one night. We had a very nice evening meal in the restaurant and also the breakfast was very good. Fish and chips was recommended for a main course so we both had it and wasn’t disappointed, soup for a starter was also very tasty. The décor in the bar and restaurant was very smart... More

Stayed here last night on a special offer which included dinner, bed and breakfast. Most of the staff were really nice, receptionist a bit frosty on checking in and lad on bar was really crawling and clearly pushing for tips. Ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. Breakfast was equally good and the staff on duty in the... More

We spent a night here, but wish we had booked two. Hotel is stunning, views are wonderful and food was excellent and plentiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms comfortable and spacious. Ground floor rooms available and suitable for disabled customers. Will definitely be back.

Stayed here 22-25th July 2015 through a wowcher deal. The deal made it excellent value for money. The staff were great and friendly. Evening meal in the restaurant was very tasty. I also had a facial in the sensoria salon which was great. Only downers-needs a refurb, the bed was not the comfiest but still slept ok-just a little lumpy... More

A little bit strange at first as we arrived and couldn't find any staff but eventually we were seated at our reserved table and tea was served very efficiently. Pleasant staff and happy to bring anything else to us. The spread was very tasty and fresh, really good afternoon tea and considering we were on a cheap deal with voucher,... More

Booked through groupon £99 for 2 nights. Looked okay from the outside ( not as good as the advertising picture but ok) checked in at reception very warm and friendly welcome from receptionist. Went up to the room.. I nearly died, beds not made properly, glasses where dirty, mirror broken, wallpaper peeling, a generally tired room, sat on the bed....... More

Stayed for 1 night with 11 mates before moving on to the nearby macdonald portal golf complex for a golf event. This hotel was great value for money and certainly looks the part. Large grand period property, lovely furnished rooms, cosy bar area and breakfast area with generous breakfast selection. Staff were friendly upon our arrival and throughout our stay. Convenient...
