Stayed for one night as a birthday celebration. Found the hotel and staff to be welcoming and friendly. Rooms were spacious and clean , nice views absolutely no problems with facilities. Evening meal and breakfast were excellent , we have no problems recommending this hotel

The first impressions of the hotel are great in that it is a very old quirky building that from afar looks lovely however close up you can see that it is in need of repair. We stayed in room 37 - there are no lifts so we had to carry the bags up 2 flights of stairs and were offered... More

We stayed last night at The Wlld Boar staying in two four poster bed rooms and had no complaints at all. Both rooms were spotlessly clean. Some public areas showing sign of wear but it adds to the character. We dined there in the evening and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We were on the Dinner Bed and breakfast package which... More

Recently attended a wedding here, so no accommodation review.I arrived with 10 min to spare due to farm traffic on the A49.Headed for reception expecting a member of staff to greet /guide me, no, not even a sign to point me in the right direction. Used the ladies, loo not flushing and torn wallpaper didnt give good impression. Not knowing anyone... More

The exterior is lovely, food in the restaurant at dinner and breakfast was good and staff were nice. However the rooms were bordering on disgusting. Smelt old, musty and damp. Very old furniture, the bathroom we had to keep door closed to contain the mould smell (which was clearly visible in the shower, looks as though it hadn't been scrubbed... More

Had a lovely trip out to the Wild Boar for afternoon tea. Beautiful black and white period hotel with lovely features. On arrival we were seated in a lovely lounge area over locking the lawned area. Service by Andy was quick and efficient. The afternoon tea was fresh and plentiful with a good selection of cakes. Excellent value for your... More

Externally a beautifully presented hotel with excellent parking . Good sized bedrooms if possibly now a little tired. Most of the staff were very good . Breakfast supply and service needs attention as do the cleaning regimes in the public areas! Pretentious is the best way to describe the down side of the hotel and some of the clientele it... More

This was a birthday gift from a close friend, we were just glad she wasn't there with us to share the experience. The hotel was very busy due to a wedding so there were only 2 staff to deal with the afternoon tea slot. We were ignored for 5 mins then eventually seated at a dirty table which the waitress... More

Lovely hotel has very nice and impressive Tudor style of the front of hotel. It has been a long journey to see but it is wonderful to see in person not only in the picture . We had a fantastic afternoon tea something to look forward after 3 1/2 hours of travelling ,Then having 3 course of lovely dinner was... More
