We had a lovely, lovely stay at this hotel. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and all the staff are very friendly. The breakfasts were excellent. Out bedroom was lovely. The bar is a very chilled place to sit and enjoy a drink (or two). Highly recommended.

We booked in The Wild Boar due to it's proximity to Oulton Park. The frontage is very impressive from the large car park. We had no problems checking in and went to our room. The room was clean, light and had a good view over rolling fields. The decor was fine possibly a little tired in places, but our stay... More

We were so shattered after our wedding on 28.08.15, we booked a wowcher deal in this hotel, we could fault it at all, excellent staff, excellent customer service, Katie our waitress was attentive, catered to all our needs, even gave us complimentary champagne on the house..... Would definitely go and stay again...

I was wondering if I'd like an older period hotel, it turns out that I don't. No Wifi in the restaurant! I nearly died. Food was good, not exceptional but above average. Room was the real let down really, bed mattress was way too soft for me and felt old fashioned, the shower was dismal with barely any water coming... More

When my partner and I visited the Wild Boar hotel we expected the decor to fit in with the Tudor style building. What we didn't expect was for the dust from that period to still be there. We were disappointed to say the least with the cleanliness of the hotel. Examples of weak areas include: stained carpet, unwashed bed runners,... More

Just returned from another overnight stay at this beautiful Tudor hotel. There is plenty of parking spaces and free wi fi. As usual the room was clean and comfortable. The staff very helpful and obliging. Our meal was lovely but my husbands steak had a vein running through it and was therefore a bit chewy. My lamb rump was very... More

First of all I just want to say I'm not a serial complainer or moaner but this hotel is truly terrible. We bought a ncrowd deal several months ago and were told the hotel had no Saturdays available until September (when our voucher had ran out) we booked Friday 28th August, we were told we would receive a confirmation email... We had a lovely stay at the Wild Boar, the afternoon tea was delightful as was the evening meal, we had a singer in the restaurant on the Saturday evening which was very nice. There was a short cut to the park and ride for chester and spent the day there on Saturday. We would definitely return.

Me and my partner stayed here on a wowcher deal for one night with breakfast. When we arrived we were blown away by the beautiful grounds and building itself. We were given a friendly greeting and checked in, we stayed in room 32 on the second floor and although slightly outdated the room was very nice and spacious. We had... More

My husband and I received a Groupon for a one night stay here with dinner and breakfast included. When we redeemed it there was only one of the four poster rooms left so the hotel staff kindly upgraded us to this room which we appreciated. The hotel is in a beautiful part of Cheshire - Beeston Castle is a must... More
