We stayed here for one night sadly attending a funeral locally. We had struggled to find a dog friendly hotel and this one had come up on a search. We hadn't checked any reviews but booked and arrived early afternoon. The hotel is old and a little creaky in places but the room was large, warm and very clean. The... More

We enjoyed a three night break at this hotel which is based around a 19th century country house with some impressive carved woodwork. All the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, the room was comfortable, spacious and sound-proof (which is reassuring when you have a dog with you), There was plenty to choose from at the buffet-style breakfasts and the... We stayed here after having afternoon tea through a groupon deal. The afternoon tea is such good value and the surroundings are very cosy and inviting. The hotel is nice, however the Windows in our room were a little drafty. The breakfast next morning was fabulous. Not much to do in the nearby vicinity and the bar didn't have much... More

We stayed for the night in this hotel and it was lovely. We called in advance to see if our dog was welcome. This was a £20 charge which we did not mind. The dog was also not allowed in the restaurant for breakfast but we sat in the bar area which worked out better for us. The staff were... More

My partner brought me here for a birthday weekend away and she knows I am very fussy. She picked a very nice place and the staff are fantastic and a real credit to this hotel. The hotel is stunning from the outside and is really impressive. I would say it's a little tired on the inside, but still very nice.... More

returned to the wild boar for a birthday treat, although their isn't much to complain about, very good/pleasant staff, lovely surroundings, warm and clean, the only complaint was the homemade burger I had at dinner was tastless and dry, but a very nice breakfast.

If you think of the Wild Boar as a hotel then you would be disappointed. Think of it as a pub with rooms then its fine. We booked a suite with a four poster. The room was clean and tidy but dated. The staff was really helpful and dinner was lovely. The smell of raw meat coming from the 2nd... More

Have always wanted to visit here. Stopped in to have Sunday lunch whilst passing. Thought it would be expensive but £10.95 for the best roast beef dinner was amazing. It was delicious and plenty of it. The staff were absolutely brilliant polite, attentive and friendly. Until you have visited here you have not had the best roast dinner. Thanks to... More
