My wife and I went to this venue and enjoyed the location near to Chester. Room clean and comfortable, restaurant provided good food for evening meal and excellent breakfast choice for topping up for a busy day out. Nice setting with ample parking, looking from afar the hotel has a quaint wow factor. Up close and personal in my opinion,... More

We stayed one night at the Wild Boar and it was very enjoyable. Lovely helpful staff and great position for getting to Tarporley and Peckforton. We had an enjoyable meal on the restaurant and breakfast next morning was very good value.

Stayed here for a wedding. The building and grounds were immaculate. Rooms were ok, a bit tired looking and quite expensive considering. WiFi was terrible! However, the hotel provided a decent cooked breakfast, although no room service for this, only continental (£3 plate charge).

on arrival, stunning location perfect for wedding photos, check in ok, nice room (family), not much of a view at back of hotel. Nice room for ceremony, difficult staircase for disabled, some could not attend ceremony, difficult assent for the bride with a long train. Before the main dinner, waiters came round with snacks, fresh and flavoursome....form here downhill, main... More

We originally booked in for 1 night for Saturday 15 Feb as there was an offer on groupon, we previously stayed here for our 1st anniversary together, the groupon deal inc a 3 course set menu for the Saturday night, and after we'd booked this got an email direct from the hotel advising of a valentines day offer of a... Staff seem a little bit 'gone with the wind', amazing views and surroundings. Beautiful building, beautiful afternoon tea, little bit pricey. Great location. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Offer from Groupon made this an excellent choice but would of been very expensive otherwise. I would however (with the offer) come gere again

The outside is absolutely lovely especially when viewed at night. The dinner service was very prompt and delicious but not a wide variety for vegetarians and there was only one thing suitable. When asked about an alternative we were subsequently denied. The room itself was dark, gloomy and is in desperate need of a referb. The bed was soaked with... More

A three night break for my wife and I. The main comment to make is how polite, helpful and friendly all the staff were. The hotel itself is an amazing looking building with several rooms of character to use for relaxing during the day or evening. Breakfast was to a good standard with plenty of hot choices that were refreshed... More

We recently visited for afternoon tea... The whole place is a taste of yesteryear, really nice setting and very authentic old fashioned. Staff were excellent, the food was good... Woo Would recommend a visit. One negative point if the wild boar read these reviews... Guests visit your toilets... I wasn't very impressed, let you down.

Stayed here on a groupon deal. And for the price paid was very good. Dinner was from a set menu but this was fine. We had a lovely evening in the restaurant with a live singer who was exceptional. Breakfast was buffet and everything you would expect was there including a nice selection of prepared fresh fruits. Room basic but... More
