Went for a Sunday lunch for me and hubby. The dining room is very cosy and welcoming. An old coaching inn which has retained many of the original features. The portion sizes were huge! Next time we will go for the smaller portion which is cheaper as we could not finish the meal. Had no room for the dessert but... More

We booked for one night on New Years Day with t.he intention of enjoying a cosy evening meal and some Walking on The Sandstone Trail the following day. The hotel is a traditionally furnished coaching house with nice period decor and a hunting theme obvious throughout. It appears generally well run and maintained and is situated centrally in the charming... More

Stayed one night for a nearby wedding but enjoyed dining so much we returned for lunch and then for morning coffee. We would recommend to anyone, except that if stairs are a problem you must ask for a ground floor room. Also enjoyed the literature in the rooms expecially hunting etiquette!

Living close by have eaten (and drunk) here many times. But after our last visit thought a mention on TA is in order. Booked for a table of eleven on Sunday evening straight after Xmas; Not realising that on Sundays the kitchen closes at eight the best part of an hour had passed after that before attempting to order. Glynne... More

My wife and I had the pleasure of getting married at The Swan in Tarporley on the 23rd Oct 2014. You won't find a venue anywhere in Cheshire with such a fascinating history. The town itself is very picturesque and the village shops/pubs and buildings have been carefully preserved, in keeping with the character and history of the area. On... More

Last week we went to this hotel for a two day break, it was easy to find being on the main road through Tarporley and had ample parking at the rear, we had a room at the rear overlooking the car park. It was a lovely room with all the amenities we required, After having a walk around Tarporley centre... More

A lovely Olde Coaching Inn with log fires. Friendly service but the best part was the amazing food! Absolutely delicious! The plate was piled high! There is a good choice with interesting specials. We had the roast beef and pork dinner. The chefs special of a bonfire night themed pannacotta was a delight with a topping which fizzed in the... More

We found this hotel by chance and glad we did, excellent food and choice. Very well presented by friendly waiting staff. Lovely decor and seating areas. 5 stars would visit again ! Prices are not cheap but you pay for the quality of the food.

The Swan is one of my favourite places, which I have been to several times. However on my recent visit I found it a real shame that there was one member of staff who seemed to have a bad attitude throughout the night. A female blonde manager who was talking to other members of staff in a very derogatory and... More
