We stayed here on a Saturday for one night nice and welcoming. Staff very helpful breakfast lovely and rooms nice. Bar was cosy and comfortable. The Hotel its self is full of character nice features dining areas are very pleasant, I would stay here again the staff are very good. The value for money is great, I paid a decent... More

We have just returned from a 4 day stay at this Hotel. Our check in was friendly and efficient and the room was very acceptable with more than adequate supplies of tea, coffee etc, and Wifi in all rooms. The breakfasts were cooked to order and there was a lage bowl of fresh fruit, fruit juices and cereals. The bar... More

We ate here as a table of 4 for their 'Christmas Fayre' dinner.I called in earlier in the week to give our menu choices and to pay a deposit of £5 per person. When we arrived I told the man behind the bar we had a reservation. He told us to go to table number 32! We sat there for... More

First impressions are important would you agree? Arrived in the car park with plenty of room, Great A look at the exterior as we off loaded the bags was ok Nice Old Building with Character. Entered into the bar area we were informed that the reception area was further down on the left. The young woman was friendly but the... More

Got to say that other than the young girl behind the bar I felt totally unwelcome. Owner/ Manageress not interested in any conversation so gave up . Not looking for a deep discussion but at least show a modicum of interest. Room ok but no light in the corridor which made it a problem getting the key in the lock.... More

Having been coming to this establishment for 20 years, I am saddened by the dreadful state in which this once tremendous place has fallen. Time was on a Sunday afternoon, you were lucky if you could have parked in the overflow car park, because it was so busy. Now only the staff cars are present 90% of the time. Firstly... More

Been a regular for many years. Place in serious decline. Where have all the regulars gone? Come on Marstons, get a grip. All locals using other establishments. Such a shame, but one visit says enough. Tired, dated, is it trying to be a pub, restaurant, hotel? Such a shame as once was the main pub in the village. Till things... More

Dingy, dated decor with small uncomfortable bed. Room temperature too hot in entire place but maybe a good thing as our room window lacked a window latch! No security lock on the door with exterior fire doors propped open. We were fortunate to leave unrobbed. We were treated with distain as we arrived for breakfast at 0930 clearly an inconvenience... I stayed on 16th of August for one night, the staff were very friendly, warm and welcoming. The decor is dated and in need of some care and attention. I have severe dietary issues so I have to take care when eating out, I managed to catch the head chef Darren, who was a delight, we discussed my requirements and... More
