Groupon day out. Monkey forest and a night stay at hotel. Getting room was quick. Room looked like there had been a murder in it. Barman didn't know how to pour a Guinness. Woke at 5am to railway repairs! Breakfast, waited 5 mins at sign that said "wait here to be seated" to be told by another guest, you can... More

Had a nice stay at The Crewe Arms Hotel this weekend. Check in was good, Rachel on reception was very friendly, answered all my questions and was happy to help. Our room wasn't great (had one of the old rooms not refurbished yet) was tired and dated, beds and pillows old but was fine for the one evening we were... More

A coach full of us stayed here as part of the Grand National weekend break we had booked. We arrived a bit later than intended but we were soon given our hotel room pass cards and after dropping our bags headed to the restaurant for our included meal. There was a good choice on the set menu and we all... More

Stayed one night (5/4/13) in a family room. Plenty of parking, yes you have to register plate, but there's that many notices around the hotel, I'm amazed some people missed them! Check in was swift, very polite receptionist, very helpful. Room 113, lovely size, 2 huge double beds, plenty of tea/coffee facilities, great sized en suite with bath and shower.... More

British Rail Computing held their 7th Reunion at the Hotel. The location is across the road from the Railway Station and so is ideal for visitors arriving by train. A special thank you must go to Rachael and all the staff for being so kind and attentive throughout the day. Nothing was too much trouble and this helped to make... More

Only there for one night for a funeral in Crewe. Fresh paint in my room - changed my room as the bathroom door fittings were still missing but no problem at reception. Second room was lovely. Food was fine and service ok. Couldn't hear the trains even though the hotel is across the road from the station.

Thank you ever so much for your recent comments. We are delighted that you enjoyed the newly refurbished rooms. My apologies that the door fitting in the first room had not been completed - this has now been fixed. Further work continues to the whole of the ground floor with the addition of a lift too. We do hope to... More

It was cheap, and located opposite the train station. The man on the counter didn't look up when I arrived in, wet, cold and hungry, but talked down at his desk throughout the entire registration process. Not the friendliest welcome. I didn't end up getting any food because I wasn't given a menu and I was so tired I couldn't... More

Thank you for submitting a review after your recent stay. I would like to apologise that the welcome you received was not to our usual high standard of friendliness and care and this matter has been addressed. I believe that your check in time was after 10pm and at this point the kitchen would have been closed, we would however... More

I booked 3 double rooms for myself & 5 other family members in January for a family party being held nearby. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff on reception and shown to our rooms which were ready for us well before our check in time. All 3 rooms were of a good size & very clean.... More

The Stephenson Locomotive Society, the oldest railway society in the world, chose The Crewe Arms for an important presentation of historic albums of railway photographs donated to the Society by Mrs Ruth Moston. Her father, Nigel Payton, took the photographs and enjoyed a long railway career, much of it at Crewe and so the hotel was a perfect venue for... More
