We arrived fairly early for lunch and the car park was all but empty. We were sat at a lovely table by one of the bay windows that had a great view of the river. The food was served quickly, even though we waited until the restaurant was busy before we ordered. It was all well presented and there was... More

Stayed here on a sunday night because it was cheap. Wasn't expecting much and actually found it much better than expected although Sat Nav struggles to find it. Really lovely location, rooms are OK but a bit rough round the edges and could do with a bit of money spent on them but for what I paid including a full... More

We were looking for a place to go for a Sunday walk and have a nice lunch afterwards. We found this place online as we saw it was also dog friendly and thought we'd give it a try. We were very impressed- it was clean, friendly service, the food was excellent and the dog was just as happy as we... More

Stayed here for a 2-night weekend break - just a couple of miles from St Ives (Cambs not Cornwall!!), St Ives is well worth a visit. The Old Ferry Boat is in a very picturesque village with lots of other thatched properties, although we couldn't see it at it's best as the land at the front was flooded! We had... More

We took a friend here for lunch on his recommendation and because we had never heard of the place. Bit of a hidden gem really and we enjoyed our lunch there. It is off the beaten track and considering the lack of passing trade was surprisingly busy. Although the bar/restaurant area is quite large it does seem quite cosy because... More

Very disappointing visit to this once nice restaurant! The place seems very dirty and I don't think it helps with dogs being allowed in and to see one being sick on the carpet near to where we were eating didn't help! The owner kindly cleared what he could and notified the staff, but we did not see them act on... More

I stayed at the Old Ferry Boat for two nights whilst visiting Cambridge: although it's not many miles away, the location is fairly remote and I found that the heavy traffic on the road to Cambridge made this a less than ideal choice. The Old Ferry Boat claims to be the oldest inn in the country, but that's not obvious... More

My family and I stayed for two nights just before Christmas. The staff were very welcoming, especially Brian the manager who served us all every morning, nothing was too much trouble The breakfast menu had a very good selection, cereals, kippers, full english, smoked salmon, danish pastries, fabulous! . Ate there both evenings and could not fault the food, we... More

Second time of staying and eating in the pub and like the first time we stayed here the young lady who welcomed us in and served us most of the weekend was very polite and professional and a credit to Brian the manager who runs the pub and is striving to raise the standards here. The rooms are very comfortable... More

This was my third visit to the inn. The first was a work meal in summer, which was lovely, but I put the slight confusion with orders down to the size of our party. Second visit was with family in autumn, and there was confusion again, with various dishes not available, but the food itself was delicious. The last time... More
