We took a friend here for lunch on his recommendation and because we had never heard of the place. Bit of a hidden gem really and we enjoyed our lunch there. It is off the beaten track and considering the lack of passing trade was surprisingly busy. Although the bar/restaurant area is quite large it does seem quite cosy because... More

Very disappointing visit to this once nice restaurant! The place seems very dirty and I don't think it helps with dogs being allowed in and to see one being sick on the carpet near to where we were eating didn't help! The owner kindly cleared what he could and notified the staff, but we did not see them act on... More

I stayed at the Old Ferry Boat for two nights whilst visiting Cambridge: although it's not many miles away, the location is fairly remote and I found that the heavy traffic on the road to Cambridge made this a less than ideal choice. The Old Ferry Boat claims to be the oldest inn in the country, but that's not obvious... More

My family and I stayed for two nights just before Christmas. The staff were very welcoming, especially Brian the manager who served us all every morning, nothing was too much trouble The breakfast menu had a very good selection, cereals, kippers, full english, smoked salmon, danish pastries, fabulous! . Ate there both evenings and could not fault the food, we... More

Second time of staying and eating in the pub and like the first time we stayed here the young lady who welcomed us in and served us most of the weekend was very polite and professional and a credit to Brian the manager who runs the pub and is striving to raise the standards here. The rooms are very comfortable... More

This was my third visit to the inn. The first was a work meal in summer, which was lovely, but I put the slight confusion with orders down to the size of our party. Second visit was with family in autumn, and there was confusion again, with various dishes not available, but the food itself was delicious. The last time... More

Thank you for the time spent commenting on your visit to Breakfast with Santa. It was unfortunate that you felt the event as disappointing, but we experienced a number of guests not booking the adults in for the breakfasts, but ordering, thus it did feel unorganised and for that we do apologise. We do strive to ensure events are organised... More

We have eaten at the Old Ferry Boat Inn many times but as we live much further afield now, we decided to stay for a couple of nights. The Inn is very old and full of character in a delighful location adjacent to the River Great Ouse near St Ives. Bryan the new manager is working very hard to ensure... More

Many thanks for your comments, we appreciate both positive and not so positive comments. This enables the team at The Old Ferry Boat to ensure every aspect of our guests experience can be the best possible. Room 5's continuous fan noise is only on during kitchen hours. Thank you once again and we look forward to your return. Bryan &... More

We stayed in room 4 for 3 nights in December. All the staff that we met were really nice and helpful. I thought the bed was comfortable, the room was warm, had plenty of hot water and a decent shower. There was some noise from the kitchen into the night and again early in the morning so if you go... the welcome here is great, but after that it goes down hill, the rooms are up some steep narrow stairs, cold when we arrived in December, the was heating off, and to call the room a double was frankly a joke, the bed crammed both sides against the walls, so you could only exit at the bottom of the bed!!,...
