Having been to this restaurant before, we were fairly sure of good service, and decent food, unfortunately we were greatly disappointed... We arrived at 1pm, having booked a table for 7 people, but as it was a warm and sunny day, we decided to sit outside, we bought drinks, and then ordered our food at about 1:20pm, and we were... The Old ferry Boat inn is a lovely hotel and good value for money , the bar is very good with a good selection of beers. The rooms are comfortable but a little small ,the staff are very approachable. Now for the downside my wife and I ate in the bar we both had fish and chips I have to... More

We love the Ferry Boat Inn because of its history and its wonderful location by the river, esp on a beautiful summer's day/ evening - the beer garden is always very popular and busy, and its a very good local because of this We went there last night and just happened to order from their £4.99+ menu - very good... The Ferryboat is in a beautiful location, but unfortunately the food and service severely let it down. We boated down the river, thinking that we could enjoy a pleasant meal once reaching our destination. What we actually got was an incredibly long wait with disappointing food at the end of it. The starters took around 40 minutes to arrive and... More

we have visited this pub many times over the years, when we first started to go there it was fantastic, unfortunately over the years it has gone down hill, every time we go in, it is always the same, 45-60 wait on food orders, even when there is only a few people in. on this particular occasion me and my... Just back from a 3 night stay. My room (Room 6) was a single, but actually had a double bed, which was a pleasant surprise. It did make the room a bit 'tight' but the double bed was more than worth it. The pub is in a pretty riverside village and is conveniently close to the attractive town of St.... More

We have been here twice now and its a fantastic Pub. There are views of the river and if your lucky you might see the seal who pops up in the river opposite. The location is really lovely out of the way with a view of the river Ouse. The food is good quality with plenty of choice and very... More

I'm very sorry to have to give the Old Ferry Boat Inn two stars. The staff were lovely, the pub itself is charming, but we were very disappointed in the food. Both my husband and I ordered a pub lunch. The portions were extremely mean. My husband had a burger, while I had scampi. Both looked and tasted extremely cheap.... More

It was a warm and sunny day (Wednesday) in June and we decided to cycle to Holywell; hopefully, to enjoy lunch in the sunshine with a view of the tranquil River Ouse. The Old Ferry Boat satisfied our wishes completely: the excellent food was good value and served after a very short pause by friendly staff. While waiting for lunch... More

Without exception the staff at this Inn are friendly, offering excellent Customer Service, even when under pressure. The interior decor manages to combine a warm, homely feel with lots of interest- no real surprise given its age. This is the first Old English Inn we have visited to offer Real Cider in form of Westons Old Rosie- something Greene King would... More
