Visited with friends on a Groupon deal, sirloin steak meal with wine or beer £20 per couple. The lady member of staff who served both our drinks and meals was very friendly and polite. The meals were well cooked, presented and delicious, all freshly prepared including home made chips. Mustard and Mayo were served in small bowls, not sachets as... More

Stayed two nights at the end of June as part of a wedding party. Really lovely place, staff really friendly and helpful and the food was great. Good place to stay if you are travelling a long distance on A47 and need a pit stop on the way to Norfolk. Highly recommended.

We had a one night stay (myself, wife and 9 year old son) whilst en-route from John O'Groats to Ipswich for a sponsored bike ride. We arrived early - not a problem. We needed a camp bed for my son - not a problem. We ate in the bar - wide and varied menu, all food was excellent, served promptly... More

I have lived in Fenland for 11 years, and never visited this well kept secret before. I delightful Sunday Lunch, reasonably priced, and with home made, locally grown ingredients. The cauliflower cheese and roast parsnips were especially tasty! My son really enjoyed his Yorkshire Pudding that was huge (even on a child's portion!) Deserts were homemade, and delicious too. We... I have stayed at the Oliver Twist on numerous occasions whilst on business in the area and found their overall service to be excellent, consistently. The spacious rooms are too a very high standard and having stayed in all of them at one time or another, I have never been distracted by the A47 traffic noise even though it is... More

Should I apologise for wanting to eat Sunday lunch or turn and walk out? Well as I had been at work since 5.30am and have to pass on my way home we decided to stay. We asked for a table for two at around 2.15pm and was directed to a tiny table in a corner and told to mind the... More

Firstly i would like to apologise for your treatment, you experienced, normally my wife would be working on Sunday, but was extremely poorly and we had to ask an old employee if she would help us cover this busy day, unfortunately she is not as skilled as my wife in customer care and service and can come across a little... My husband and I went for Sunday lunch and on arrival I saw the veggie option was the dreaded predictable vegetable lasagne which 90% of restaurants seem to have as the only veggie meal. However when I asked if there was anything else I was offered bean and feta crumble which was so lovely best veggie meal in ages. My... More

I stayed here just the one night as had business in the area. The welcome, the room and the food were great. The major let down was the noise. I had hardly any sleep and after a long journey that day I was shattered and dearly wanted to have an early night. Every 15 to 20 minutes throughout the night... More
