This hotel is good value considering what else the area has to offer. The hotel and rooms are very dated but that goes with the character of the hotel and the village in general. The staff are really friendly and helpful.

I shared a twin room with a friend and both beds had the most awful mattresses ever. They were cheap and so worn that the springs stabbed at every turn. It was so bad that I had to sleep on top of the duvet and my friend had to sleep top to toe in her bed. This was pointed out... More

Travelling back from Aylesbury we decided to try out this establishment for a bar meal. We were not disappointed, food arrived quickly and was all freshly cooked. Nice busy bar generating a good atmosphere, mainly locals enjoying their early Friday night drinks. We enjoyed our stop at The Bell Hotel.

Attended a party with about 35 friends. Hotel room lovely, we were upgraded free of charge to a room with 4 poster and modern bathroom with jacuzzi. Very clean and comfortable. Had a very tasty carvery (exceptionally hot) and choice of desserts and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Hotel staff attentive and friendly. Breakfast good too.

Have read other reviews and all I can say we must have gone on the chefs day off...although the pub was very pleasing to the eye the food was awful....my soup was solid and cold...my husbands food was over cooked and very greasy....couldn't complain as we were with relatives who are regulars and we didn't want to spoil the day....!!

Visiting relatives nearby and called in with them for lunch..... Mixed order with our group choosing from toasties, fish and chips for myself and veggie soup for the wife. Toasties were passable, my fish and chips good portion but ruined with the batter soaked in cooking oil which was past it's sell by date. The wife's soup was awful...arrived as... More

I stayed here with my girlfriend. Our room had a 4 poster bed and the bathroom had a jacuzzi for a very reasonable price. This room was very clean and the staff were friendly. We got in very late and the night porter was happy to open up the bar so we could have a cheeky drink before going to... More
