My husband surprised my for our 5th year wedding anniversary at Cliveden House. Well all what I can say is that we really enjoyed ourselves!!! The house and grounds are amazing and didn’t disappoint. We stayed in a room called Henry James and wow the views of the grounds and the Thames was absolutely amazing, the room was beautiful with... more

Just returned from another idyllic break at Cliveden, this time I took my grandmother for her 87th birthday and she had the most wonderful time. She gasped at the grandeur of the building as we drove up the gravel approach, she said she felt like a queen. And the staff treated her like royalty swiftly upgrading her to as suite... more

The hotel and grounds are magnificent and well-appointed, we felt as if we had stepped back in time. The country house is quite large but there is an undeniably warm and welcoming feel to the place. We found the Cliveden staff to be extremely accommodating. We were provided with exemplary service without it being obtrusive -- a balance that is... more

MY partner and I stayed at Clivedon house while we visited Royal Ascot. On arrival there is no denying that the main house looks absolutely stunning. After a quick and pleasant check in we where excited to be told that out suite was ready and waiting for us. We were shown to a room called Chaplin which is in a... more

We stayed at Cliveden to celebrate our first anniversay. We booked a Junior Suite and upon arrival we were given a very tired looking room with the view of a car park. We asked to be moved and were put into the Vanderbilt suite. The rooms are very scruffy to be honest. Carpets are dirty with rips and holes. The... more

Turned up yesterday at 5pm after arranging to stay for 2 nights at Cliveden. All arrangements done by email and i requested camp beds to be put in our room but they could only offer 2 rooms interconnecting at a rate of £400+ per room per night. I checked twice prior to booking that the rooms would be interconnecting since... more

The history and grandeur of the hotel itself was beyond our wildest expectations. We were always treated as guests with friendliness with a happy demeanor. Mr Tim Pettifer, the General Manager, was like an old friend even though we had just met him. We hope to go back again as soon as possible! more

I almost canceled my reservation at Cliveden based on some of the reviews on this site. I am really, really glad I didn't. We had a lovely and relaxing weekend. Some of the great things are: -The house itself is gorgeous, with an amazing sense of history (it was built in the 1600s) -The staff are friendly, warm, helpful and... more

My husband took me away for a two-night break at the end of April. On advice of friends who had recently stayed, we managed to bargain quite a bit of money of the price but obviously this is still an expensive place to stay. We were very happy with our stay, thought the service was excellent and food delicious. I... more
