We had Sunday luncheon to celebrate my wife's birthday together with four close friends. From the moment we pulled up to the hotel entrance until the moment we departed it was a magnificent and most memorable experience. The attention to detail was amazing, the food was stunning (the beef was the nicest my wife had ever had), all of the... More

Our stay at Cliveden House this weekend was exceptional and I need pay particular credit to all the staff who made this possible. The experience from booking (Lydia), the boat trip (Ken), the welcome at the door to the waiters, sommelier and just about everyone we came into contact with were outstanding – unfortunately I cannot name them all. The... More

Popped into Cliveden House to check it out as a potential wedding venue. On arrival we hesitated for a few minutes to decide where to start our walk - a young guy who's name we later found out was Tony came towards us from the hotel restaurant near the spa area. He asked us if we needed any help and... More

Tony is at work today, I will personally take a moment to share your feedback I know he will be delighted. Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience. I am a very lucky manager to have a character like Tony on the team. He really does care and it shows. Thank you again. Kind regards Sue W More

The building and setting are unbeatable. Redecorating started last year and is absolutely superb. Nothing of the ambience has been lost, just a wonderful update in delicate blues, greens, lavender, silver and gold. The Astors would not be disappointed and neither were we. The dining room has improved immensely. Food is good, not exceptional yet, but definitely heading in the... More

It is a delight to know we are one of your favourite hotels to visit, we promise never to take that for granted and will keep up with the "to do" list. I often wonder what the past generations of Astor's and indeed current make of the interior now. As we set about the refurbishment we have in our minds... More

The new owners have lifted Cliveden to another level. We have been visiting over the years but this was our first visit under the current ownership. The improvements are everywhere: staff, food, ambience. It was slightly tired and faded before but not now. The staff are extraordinarily enthusiastic, friendly and welcoming. We had a very, very good dinner in the... More

So delighted you could see a distinct improvement in the house presentation and team. We took over just two years ago and have enjoyed setting this Grand Old Dame back on the right track. Thank you for your very kind review and we hope to meet you again before too long. Kind regards Sue W More

Once you've found the entrance to Cliveden you know you are in for a treat as you pass the fountain and start up the main driveway. What a stunning approach. With a warm welcome we were shown our rooms in the stable block. These rooms hadn't been refurbished and are apparently on the list to be done this coming winter.... More

I remembered a lovely birthday party I held for my husband many years ago and thought that we would go back remerising of the times we had at Clivedon . The food was excellent but thought the hotel was a bit worn out we were surprised at no table cloths when you ate lunch in the library the staff were... More

Sorry to read that not all was as your would have expected. There are a couple of points I would wish to clarify 1) that the house is currently undergoing a fulsome program of refurbishment and any less perfect areas will soon we addressed. It just takes longer than we would have hoped as we have to take into consideration... More

Yes - Clivedon is in a fantastic National Trust location - views fantastic - steeped in history - the gardens are magnificent and the hotel looks as if it is going to be the fairy tale place for special breaks and occasions. Our recent experience regrettably was not like this. Our initial room was on the ground floor by the... More

Ground floor rooms are a part l of our beautiful Heritage house we can not change but I do apologise that the air conditioning was such a temporary offering. You might imagine it is nigh on impossible to achieve installing Air conditioning in a National Trust Grade 1 listed house, but I am feeling hopeful that as we undertake refurbishments,(imminently),... We recently took Afternoon Tea at Cliveden, thanks to a voucher for two given as a birthday present. This was received in a very attractive presentation box and Tea was easily booked by phone. This was confirmed by e-mail. We felt very grand as we drove along the long drive leading to the house! All the staff were very welcoming.... More

My wife, Pat and I loved everything about the "House". The room, the gardens, the Downton Abbey Bell's in the basement and the staff were all exceptional. However, the highlight of our stay may have been our dinner provided by Chef Andre Garrett. We ordered the lobster ravioli as an appetizer and steak for the entre. The ravioli was bathed... More
