Cliveden House stands out for its grandeur and historic charm, making guests feel as if they're staying in a stately home. The hotel's cleanliness is impeccable, with travelers consistently lauding the pristine rooms and grounds. While the rooms are spacious and luxuriously appointed with historic touches and scenic views, some guests have pointed out occasional maintenance issues. The amenities, including a luxury spa and stunning gardens, earn rave reviews, especially for the afternoon teas overlooking the Thames. Although the staff generally receives praise for their attentiveness, a few guests have experienced delays. Despite this, some visitors feel the cost does not equate to the value received.

We celebrated our mother's 90th birthday with a fabulous tea and champagne. We were given an excellent window table and were looked after an very attentive team lead by Liam Phelam. It will go down as one of best experiences ever. Thank you Cliveden

Hotel's Favorite
For those fortunate enough to be able to spend some time here, you will never forget it. The place is steeped in history, with a specific combination of British Aristocracy and Guilded Age America. For fans of "Downton Abbey" this will remind you of being on that TV set. The level of service is exceptional, and each room has its own name - no numbers allowed - and your name will be written in beautiful calligraphy on a bespoke card on the room door. The pure gold-encrusted clock on the water tower looks like it is from a French Chateau, and the gardens were a favorite of Queen Victoria herself. There's beautiful sketches, paintings and photos throughout the Main Hall and all of the connecting hallways throughout the main house. If you have time, a stroll down to the Thames River is well worth the effort - the beautiful cottages alongside the Thames have their own famous histories, and are outstanding examples of Tudor-style architecture. While the cost may be outside the reach of many travelers (I was lucky enough to be here for four days on a business offsite), it is well worth splurging on. You will live like the Astor Family (the former owners) for the time you are there!

Elegant hotel which is so impressive as you arrive and drive up the long gravel drive way. Huge grounds and delightful gardens. Cliveden has a lot of old world charm but with 5 star service and a wonderful spa. It was raining but I still swam outside in the heated pool and sat in the jacuzzi enjoying a relaxing and enjoyable stay. One night wasn't long enough.

The hotel is gorgeous in its glorious setting. The staff at reception and the bar are very helpful and friendly! Wonderful bed and a beautifully decorated, comfortable room. The deluxe room with a view to a grey, gloomy wall for that price... Hmmm The private dining with two main courses I chose but couldn't finish both... Hmmm The worst thing is, that the deposit (pardon me, it's a few thousand pounds!!!), which was taken from my card during check-in, hasn't been returned a month later!... Hmmm. Do you need more commence?

A treat for my mother’s 90th birthday, which she really enjoyed. All of the staff were very attentive and made sure my elderly mother was looked after. Not in any way stuffy just very genuine. Stunning building and views over the Berkshire countryside. Worth every penny.

Beautiful grounds and an incredible spa. Service was outstanding. Maybe because we were there in February and it was rainy or overcast most of the time, that the main rooms felt very dark. Having said that, the rooms are lovely and the bathroom excellent. We will have to go back in the summer to really get a better look at the grounds.

From the moment you enter Cliveden, you are transported back in time. It is an absolutely stunning property with gorgeous grounds to explore. The ladies at reception and the bellhops were so kind and attended to all of our needs. Everyone at Cliveden is very friendly and accommodating. Vanessa in the bar and Magdalena in the dining room knew our name, room, and order preferences, and were so nice to talk to. From breakfast and afternoon tea, to dinner and cocktails, we truly enjoyed each experience. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We loved the Noble Isle products in the bathroom. The spa was serene and relaxing. Our treatments were wonderful. There is so much history and warmth at Cliveden. We had a magical stay and will definitely be back.

What an excellent venue for a meeting! My experience at the Cliveden House was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. My reception was well managed, from check-in through my suitcase being delivered ahead of me to the room. My room was large, comfortable and well appointed. The tablet in the room available to review the information on the resort's amenities and grounds was appreciated, as I was also able to read a number of periodicals offered. The meeting facilities were excellent, providing strong WIFI connectivity, as well as beverages and snacks. The young man on staff that managed our meeting, and was also a server at our private dinner Wednesday night, was very attentive and did an extraordinary job. I apologize that I can't recall his name, but he is an asset to the staff at Cliveden House. Finally, I found the food to be delicious and well presented. One of my colleagues was displeased with a white wine selection being served, and the staff quickly addressed the situation by replacing it. Yet another great example of the Cliveden House staff moving quickly to ensure our experience there was good. Overall, I had a fantastic stay at Cliveden House, and I would recommend it to anyone planning a meeting, looking for a relaxing getaway or hosting a special event.
