I had a fabulous first stay here in January. My rating would absolutely be 5 stars, but I am comparing the hotel to itself--what it is now, in the midst of a massive 3 year renovation, versus what it will be when restoration is complete. I had actually booked another stay at the Four Seasons Hampshire when I first read... More

Thank you so much for such a well observed report back after your recent stay. We love to hear of our guests exploring the house and gardens and you so obviously made it to all corners of the Estate. We have completed so much of the refurbishment and it just remains to do a few works in and around our... More

We stayed here on a whim after traveling around the English countryside, and I was totally blown away. Our room was luxurious and gorgeous. This place takes you back in time, like you've woken up as 17th Century royalty (or guests of). The elegance of the ground floor was a bit intimidating at first, but not long after lounging for... Thank you for your lovely review. Your wonderful description conjured up a wonderful picture even for me who is so familiar with the house and gardens. I am so pleased you enjoyed the house and the setting and that you felt the elegance of a bygone era. Kind regards Sue W More

This was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The service, attention and quality of the menu was excellent. As a venue for fine dining, it was superb. Our evening was truly special and will stay in our memories for a very long time.

Well where do I start? Just the drive down the avenue approach makes you relax and feel very privileged to be going to the house to have lunch, afternoon tea or a stay in their lovely rooms. The warm welcome of the staff put you at ease to enjoy your treat ahead. Lunch is a great time to visit if... More

A 24 hours at Cliveden in early January and as a very fussy and demanding traveller I was intrigued to see how they faired as friends who have stayed are a little marmite - some love the place, others really don't. We had booked a spa/dinner/breakfast break for £1000. After a nice pub lunch in nearby Beaconsfield we arrived mid-afternoon... More

We walked around for an hour and a half or so. Nice views and a beautiful building. It was between rain showers so it wasnt busy at all! The gardens where well kept and the fountain was a nice addition to the walk-around.

Stunning approach via grand avenue drive and warm arrival greeting, these guys have seen it all and take all in their stride, even small children whose parents should really know better than try to retrofit them quietly into a grand space. Staff unfazed. Guests less so. Fabulous alcohol free cocktails, wonderful soft cured Duart salmon, beautifully presented. Veloute also good... More

A very beautiful house with stunning views across Berkshire and the Thames. Even this early in the season, the gardens are a sight to behold. The Sutherland Suite, as well as being a lovely room has a very interesting history. The house is full of historic artefacts, art and architecture. The main areas of the house have been beautifully restored.... More

Although we were not staying overnight, we spent a magical day at Cliveden House at the end of October and were made to feel very special by every member of staff we encountered. Our day began with a champagne cruise on the Suzy Ann being regaled with stories by 'Captain Bob', then on to lunch in the beautiful dining room.... More

Thank you for your October reflections. We are so pleased to know your trip on the River with our legendary Captain (Ken) was much enjoyed. His knowledge certainly brings the River banks to life. The memories sound vivid, so we very much hope you will be tempted to repeat the experience in the Summer of 2016. Kind regards Sue W More

Top drawer. We (family of 4) blew away the Xmas cobwebs with a great day out. Lots of walking in the woods, hide and seek and the really hard maze. We were in there for ages. Highly recommended. The toilet block in the gas yard was excellent for the little ones, mini urinals and sink, the boys loved the fact... More
