Had to find a room in Amersham at the last minute, was directed to the Saracenshead in the old town, felt very welcome straight away, I was given a twin room for the price of a single, in the courtyard at the back, very cosy room indeed. The bar has a very nice range of beers and the locals were... More

While on our vacation to London my grandfather and I were looking for the perfect place to stay outside of London. We found that at Saracen's Head Inn! This is a very nice, historic hotel located in Amersham, not only was our stay enjoyable we also really enjoyed the food! There is a tube station located just up the hill... More

Having just read some of the recent reviews posted I felt the need to post one myself. I have stayed at The Saracen’s Head Inn twice over the past 4 months. I visit Amersham on business at least 12 times a year. I used to stay at The King’s Arms, however, I decided to try The Saracens for the first... More

I can only describe our visit as one of the worse places I have stayed in. We had booked a double room over the phone. On arrival, we were shown to a twin room. When we said we asked for a double we were told ‘it’s fine we could push the beds together. As we had specifically asked for a... More

We'd never been to Amersham old town before and decided to take a trip out on a pleasant Saturday afternoon. The first pub we saw was this one so in we went. It was quiet with just the radio (Radio 6?) on at a reasonable volume. There was a good selection of beers including two from the 'Hen' brewery (Speckled... More

I came here on business, booked by the company I'm meeting with. It's not a hotel, not a b&b, not even an Inn, it's a pub with rooms to let, and an ancient one at that. I'm so happy someone booked it for me because I never would have stayed here, opting for my usual marriott/hilton- ie the same the... More

Stayed here on business and was disgusted by the rooms. Initially my room was number 12, this is in what appears to be a cottage next door. On opening the door directly into the room it feels like you are in someone's lounge ! The very ancient double bed is inches away from the window with people walking past. It... More

The Saracen's Head accommodation is comfortable, clean, well presented and has plenty of character of a traditional ol' English Pub. The staff are friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. After dropping our bags off, we spent the day walking around Amersham browsing the lovely shops and having a picnic in the park. In the evening we returned... More

We have just returned from a few days stay in Amersham. The Saracens Head is a lovely old pub with rooms to let - We stayed in a room at the front of the premises, above the courtyard entrance, accessed via the public bar. Only downside was I couldn’t resist a nice pint or two of Greene King IPA beer... More

Large double room and hearty breakfast, very friendly staff. All nice and clean. Only one thing lets it down on the room we had and that it was close to where the pub smoking area was, didn't smell the smoke but heard plenty of chat. Would use the hotel again though.
