We stayed one night, B&B, with dinner when we arrived. The reception and restaurant staff cannot be faulted - impeccable service and excellent food - top marks. We stayed in an "Executive Room" in the modern extension - a bit lacking in character, but very comfortable and as we were only here for one night we would not have got... More

Thank you for your kind review. We had recently pushed the breakfast team as they were being too slow, so that may be our fault! I will speak to them. More

Spent 2 nights here with my husband as a special treat. B&B plus one night with dinner. We stayed in room 12- a lovely suite with 4 poster bed, sloping floor, wooden beams and a well appointed bathroom which was in the main building. The shower was superb. Our room overlooked the outside seating area so there was a little... More

Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. I am glad you liked the historic rooms - room 12 is one of my favourites. More

Rooms were a bit soulless compared to the pub itself. But quiet, comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast room a little crowded. Breakfast itself was nice without being outstanding. All in all a decent establishment.

Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. I suspect you stayed in the new rooms in the extension. They are modern as you point out. We have 14 rooms in the historic building which are full of character, uneven floors, beams, though decorated in a similar style. I take your point about breakfast being a little tight... More

We stayed at the crown inn a few doors down but decided to dine for lunch here. As the weather was ideal we sat out with a glass of wine in the sunshine. We also ordered food which was simple and very tasty. Great service, friendly and patient staff and good food . I'd recommend the mushrooms on toast with... More

I am so glad you had a good lunch. I agree - I think the Malbec is a cracking wine. More

We spent 2 nights in this charming hotel. There is the "old" part and the extentions in the courtyard. The room in the new part was nice and cosy, with a big bathroom with shower and bathtub. Breakfast is either buffet or à la card. Overall a nice experience!

We stayed at the KIngs Arms as we were visting family who live locally. The room had been booked by my sister in Australia as a treat for us. Room 301 was lovely however it was situated next to the outside seating / drinking area. Being a lovely summers evening, understandably people were sat outside drinking until very late and... More

Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. As you mention we have corresponded regarding the comments made and I have offered a repeat stay at a standard rate, with upgrade. I am not dismissing the comments, but wherever possible we invite people to give us a chance to put things right, rather than discount. My offer is... More

We had lunch out on the terrace at the back of this hotel. Great for just relaxing in the sunshine, great food, beer and service in very comfy armchairs. Looked like a pretty extensive wine list although we did not try any.

Booked on lastminute for a business trip. As the hotel was full the receptionist upgraded us to the rental house next door. Apart from the shower the accommodation was superb. The staff were very helpful until breakfast. My partner and I went to get cereals she put down the milk jug and I turned to get it and it was... More

Thank you for your feedback which is so frustrating to read. We had a series of reviews indicating breakfast was an issue, so we have bought new equipment, revamped the buffet and put experienced staff on, which fixed the problem until this review. You are absolutely right, midweek corporate guests need a swift breakfast option - hence the new toaster... More

Many thanks to Peter and his team for making Sophie and Sam's wedding in June so memorable. The setting and location are beautiful and the Chapel itself is stunning. The food from canapes in the walled garden to dessert was excellent. We received nothing but rave reviews from our family and friends for the whole day. Steve & Lisa Whitton

Stayed in the duplex. Great to find an option to accommodate having our 2 young children with us that allows us to be in one property but with two separate bedrooms at a price much better than a hotel suite. Kids loved the spiral staircases and the rooms certainly had beams aplenty. It was hot though even with the windows... More
