Judging by the pictures it looks boutique-y and charming. Trust me, it is not. We booked here as a friends wedding nearby. We are well travelled and stay in hotels a lot so we often book into hotels that offer a bit of old world charm, rustic beams and well maintained location. We didn't find this. The room was 'fine',... More

The standard of rooms are good at this hotel and very light and airy. The food in the restaurant was good but the ambience was spoilt by the dining room being so dark. My colleague read the dinner menu using the candle provided on these table! Tables and chairs for sitting outside are literally adjacent to the roadway in to... More

I very rarely give negative reviews of hotels, but in the circumstances i feel that i can not do anything other. We stayed at this hotel recently & we found the room clean &spacious. However we soon discoverd that the toilet flush was not working properly.I immediately informed reception & was told that it would be dealt with. When we returned in... More

such great character. i had a spacious room and only stayed for a night for a special occasion. breakfast was a let down a little. but otherwise good experience. some of the rooms were dark and a little dingy. but i think this is due to the age.

A nice hotel which surprises you in terms of location as it just sort of 'appears' on the main road. It is opposite a beautiful old priory and although on the main road, was not noisy at all. It has free parking and free wifi also. We stayed overnight after visiting Bletchley Park (well worth it btw), and would recommend... More

Stopped here for one night as I was flying out of Luton early next morning. An excellent hotel, nice feel to the public area's with wood panelling and a nice relaxed atmosphere in the bar area. Nice spacious room and comfortable bed, a good nights sleep, would definitely stop here again and probably try the restaurant out as it looked... More

We stayed at the Old Palace Lodge on 21st June and were surprised to find it in the center of the town. The name suggested. We were pleasantly surprised to find it was still characterful in the old part of the building with beautiful carved wooden fireplace in reception. The rooms had all the facilities of a modern hotel and... More

Dark, dingy entrance and dining room, although bedrooms bright and airy. Accommodation was average - old fashioned bath with shower over (why not a nice modern enclosure?). Very noisy if windows opened - so with no aircon, a quiet but a very warm room. For a 4* quoting 'award winning chef' breakfast was v disappointing. Omelet (which was not even... More
