Over the years, we have enjoyed many stays at AMC’s Cardigan Lodge, but hadn’t been recently. An August couple-of-nights stay in the private room with queen bed and private bath was as good as ever (actually better in some ways). This room isn’t large, but is furnished with nightstands with good reading lamps on each side of the bed and... More

This lodge is a great place to stay for a weekend. The food is great and the croo is friendly and knowledgable. Rooms on the 3rd floor are a little warm with little ventilation in the summer - though they did have a fan in the room.

When planning our daughter's wedding, we were immediately attracted to Cardigan Lodge, not only did she and her fiance frequent the area hiking and skiing at Mt. Cardigan, but with so many out of town guests, we were attracted to the idea that lodging and food for all those guests would be included from Friday evening until Sunday morning. And... More

My husband and I write books together, and we go on work retreats here once or twice a year. It's idyllic. Comfy lounge with internet access for writing. Abundant food. When we take breaks, there's a sweet little pond to swim in right on the property, and several beautiful woods walks that start right from the lodge. (I've hip problems... More

This is our third summer at Cardigan lodge. We love this family friendly retreat. All meals are included, and guided activities are available every day. Perfect for outdoor loving families with children of all ages. Our only complaint is that the coffee tastes like water. Tell them to use 2 packets instead of 1 and they will oblige.

This is a fantastic spot and tremendous value for a family trip off the grid. Shem valley is beautiful. Staff were all top notch and the naturalist guides are a huge bonus for all their programming they provide. Their naturalist john really went above and beyond to make our family's trip educational and fun. Food is not fancy with some... More

My wife and I spent three days and two nights camping at one of the campsites at Cardigan Lodge. From Boston it was a fairly simple 2.5 hour trip (I will echo other posters in saying use the directions from the site not GPS). We originally booked campsite number 3 but decided we didn't like the location after all; staff... More

Our family of 2 adults and 2 children stayed at the AMC Cardigan Lodge this past weekend in July, having signed up for the Wee Wanderers program - geared toward families with children age 3-5. Our 5 year old had a wonderful time with all the activities and the other kids. Our trip leaders - naturalists Amanda and Mary Ann... More

AMC Cardigan Lodge was fantastic! It was clean, the staff was friendly and welcoming, the food was great. We hiked to the beaver pond with a guide and learned about plants and wildlife along the way. We can't wait to go back and explore the surrounding trails and spend more time learning with the naturalists at the Lodge. What a... More

This is not the lodging to choose if you want privacy and comfort. We stayed here with a group of friends at the end of May. We were on the third floor and it really is uncomfortably hot. They only provide a very small fan which does not do much. The rooms are small and crowded. No bedding or towels... More
