I stayed 2 nights at the Duck Inn, having prepaid the total amount. I chose what I thought was a 1 bedroom suite on the first floor, which is stated on the website. I was willing to pay the extra money in order to stay on the first floor. To my surprise and shock I ended up in the basement... More

Elise has five spaces in her charming hilltop barn overlooking the Aquinnah lighthouse, furnished with vintage and duck-themed appliances and anything else that takes her eye. It all works, and you find yourself settling into an unselfconscious sort of comfort rare in the hospitality world. This is an inn with a sense of humor run by an innkeeper who is... More

We stayed in the Duck Inn this summer for three days. It was fantastic. It has a walk to a beautiful Aquinnah beach, excellent breakfast, great co-habitants and a beautiful setting and interior. The duck themed everything is a hoot, er, quack. We will definitely be going back next year.

Elise's Duck Inn is a charming house in the wildest part of MVI, perfect if you want to stay in the middle of fields, away from the touristic or "mainstream" areas of the island and ideal for relaxing, enjoying the nature, the ocean, sunsets and stars. The room I stayed is very spacious and functional, but also romantic. The common... More

My husband and I just returned from a May weekend on Martha's Vineyard and we are so glad we stayed at the Duck Inn. After visiting the entertaining and historic towns of Oak Bluffs and Edgartown we headed west towards the sunset and the empty beach at Gay Head/Aquinnah. Elise gave us a warm welcome, showed us around her beautiful... More

This is not a "perfectly" appointed or professionally decorated inn, but that's why we chose it. We wanted a relaxing weekend away from it all with a view of the ocean. The property is beautiful and peacefully located far off the beaten path. It's on one of the higher points of the island with wide, distant views of ocean and... More

Elise was warm and welcoming. Her place is cosy, breakfast was wonderful. We walked to the beach, she allowed us to bring our (small) dog and spoiled her rotten! Showers were plenty hot, hot-tub small and private, lovely fireplace. Low-key place from which to enjoy the island. If you want a ton of amenities, shopping, etc.....don't go to Aquinnah. If... More

This was perhaps our best ever experience of an Inn. The Duck Inn is a beautiful historic building set among fields, woods, and dry stone walls, with wonderful views of the ocean and lighthouse. The interior, with passive solar design, is charmingly furnished with vintage pieces that were selected with love and often humor. And yes, it's clean, notwithstanding the... More

Short, beautiful walk to best beach on the island. This eclectic inn with breathtaking views is one of the last vestiges of what island hospitality used to be. The end-of-island sea breezes eliminate the need for summer air conditioning while efficient passive solar construction and a Rumford fireplace in this 200-yr old house provide cosy comfort in winter. Charming innkeeper... More

Charming rooms, delicious organic breakfast fresh from the garden, short walk on a wooded path to the beach and the best view of the stars at night. Gorgeous ocean views and a warm, friendly innkeeper. Low key and completely relaxing. Pretty close to perfect.
