Al Cielo is truly a hidden gem along the Riviera Maya! As a regular visitor to the area, this is a favorite spot of mine! If you like a 5 star boutique hotel experience, look no further. The beach is stunning, one of the most beautiful along the entire coastline. It is NOT over run with all-inclusive hotels, so you... More

In my review of Escencia I forgot to mention that guests could dine at a neighboring property. Al Cielo . I wanted to mention it because for those of us who like to dine with a view of the sea This is it. We went over before our reservation so we could enjoy a cocktail with a beautiful view and... More

This hotel is perfect! The beach is gorgeous, the restaurant is amazing, food was spectacular and right on the beach, and the room (Villa Atedecer) was spacious and comfortable. We traveled with our 2 year old and the staff went out of their way to make sure he had a special "cocktail" every day, he loved our rooftop pool, and... More

This restaurant is a hidden gem! A relaxed beachfront atmosphere with amazing food and service! Sit overlooking a fantastic view of the most pristine beach the Caribbean sea has to offer yet secluded from traffic on the beach. The linguine with clams was fresh and delicious and paired perfectly with a crisp white wine. Desserts were just as fresh, light... More

The restaurant had wonderful meals. Examples are: grouper with fresh spinach and a sweet potato puree. Another night I had a generous filet mignon done perfectly. I had children with me who enjoyed a fish dinner with rice and vegetables all served attractively and tastefully. Desserts were special and excellent and an effort was made to serve the children ice... More

We try and go here every single time we are in the area (We've been at least a handful of times now). Such a hidden gem, the food is amazing. The wine is great, and you can not beat the views. I will always return here. I have yet to actually stay at the hotel but that is on my... More

My wife and I love Al Cielo! It had a great laid back vibe (but of course clean), and not only are the food and drinks amazing, but so is the service. We particularly loved the ceviche, the crab cakes, the catch of the day, tamarind margarita, and micheladas. We actually ordered the same exact thing the second time we... More

We visited Al Cielo January, 2015, and had a wonderful experience. We learned upon our return, that the property had been purchased by the next door hotel Esencia. That hotel was a very different type- much more formal luxury property. We had chosen Al Cielo as it was more casual, laid back, and comfortable. It seems that the transition of... More

I rarely write reviews but our experience at Al Cielo was exceptional. Thank you to the kind staff for the great service and some of the best food we have tasted in Mexico. We had read the reviews in advance but Al Cielo definitely exceeded our expectations. First of all, it's right on one of the best beaches of Mexico... More

I hate to post negative reviews about any establishment but I feel it is necessary to share our very recent experience. We stayed in the Fuego room December 12-22, 2015. During our stay we noticed little bites on our bodies. We thought they were mosquito bites at first. The last thing we expected were bed bugs. When we got home... More

Dear Trip Advisor readers, We are terribly sorry that this guest had an unhappy post vacation experience however we strongly insist that this review is inaccurate and grossly unfair. Bed bugs (cimex lecturalis) do not even exist in our region of Mexico. We are located in a spectacular isolated part of the Yucatan peninsula sandwiched between a lush jungle and... More
