What a week! So many good things to say, I hardly know where to start. First of all, new owners Ben and Esther are charm personified! They made sure we had a wonderful, comfortable stay. They are cool people, and the snatches of conversation we had with them during our time were such a bonus! The house itself is beautiful,... More

Worth the drive. A beautiful almost deserted beach. Easy to swim or kayak out to the still healthy reef where you will see lots of fish and coral, maybe a barracuda or a turtle. Esther and Ben provide everything you need to relax. Wonderful breakfast. Excellent fishing, diving, and bird watching nearby. The Leaky Palapa is an excellent restaurant nearby.... More

If you are looking for a tranquil, comfortable holiday - this is the place. My husband and I stayed here the last week of November and it's hard to find words to describe the beauty of this small hotel. Breakfasts with Esther and Ben were great. The variety of birds and sea life was an unexpected surprise - herons, cranes, pelicans,... More

Casa Carolina was the first place I ever stayed in Costa Maya about 13 years ago. It made such an impression I decided to move full-time north of Xcalak a couple of years later. Casa Carolina has always been top-rated but when I made a return visit two weeks ago I was amazed. There are many new improvements and many... More

New owners Ben and Esther are doing a great job taking care of Casa Carolina and their guests even in the midst of moving in. I can only imagine what’s it’s going to be like once they are settled. Breakfasts and dinners are delicious. Rooms are beautiful and beach is very clean. Thank you very much, Ben and Esther for... More

Second stay at Casa Carolina and loved it every bit as much as the first. Bob and Caroline along with their staff (and dog, Tootsie) are extremely hospitable, creating the perfect environment for an awesome vacation. With only four rooms on the property there's a really nice balance of alone time and social time and you can adjust according to... More

Could not return to Mexico and not drive down to Xcalak. Would not consider staying anywhere other than at the beautiful Casa Carolina. Yet again we were greeted so warmly by Caroline and Bob, who have created such a lovely place to relax and take in the natural beauty of this area. Comfortable rooms offering everything we needed, beautiful views,... More
