A diamond in the rough, and I don't just mean in Valladolid, but in Mexico and beyond. One of the best places I've lodged out of a year's worth of travels. My wife felt at home and the staff were helpful in letting us store a couple of perishable items for our child during our two night stay. Breakfast plate... More

My husband and I stayed at Casa Hamaca for 3 nights. It wound up being our gateway to connecting with the Yucatan and getting out of the tourist rut it is so easy to fall into on the coast. The owner, Dennis, is a friendly and knowledgeable man. He was sincerely concerned with our comfort and also shared his love... More

We stayed at three nights at Casa Hamaca. The main reason we had chosen C.H. was it's proximity to Chichen Itza, and some cenotes. We were not disappointed. The location was convenient and allowed us the be at Chichen Itza when it's gates opened. We loved staying at Casa Hamaca - it was very clean, the room was spacious and... More

What really makes Casa Hamaca special is the wonderful staff and the hotel's owner, Denis. Everyone was incredibly nice and helpful--the waiters refilled our water bottles and coffee during the delicious breakfast, a woman on the staff gave me a tour of all the beautiful hand-painted murals throughout the building, and we had the pleasure of hanging out with Denis... we had a delightful 3 night stay at casa hamaca. denis larsen was a font of advice and information, in addition to being welcoming and friendly. he's probably the most extraverted person we've ever met--perfect for an innkeeper. he was also kind enough to provide advice and information even before we got there. staff were also warm and friendly. the... Casa Hamaca was by far our favourite place to stay while in Yucatan. The staff are excellent, the owner is helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, the food is great (huge portions) and the surroundings are beautiful. Very highly recommended.

We stayed here for several nights as part of our honeymoon trip around the Yucatan and it was definitely amongst the best accomodation we had. Dennis (the owner) is extremely friendly and even invited us to join him on his weekly market run and introduced us to his favourite local breakfast spot - an unexpected and much appreciated bonus!

My husband, three daughters and I stayed at Casa Hamaca for three nights this past month, and what a perfect stay it was. The lodgings were just what we hoped for from all the stellar reviews. My husband and I stayed in the spacious Stone Room and the girls were in the Earth Suite, where my youngest elected to sleep... More

This place is really special. It's owned by an American retiree(?) that is really active with volunteering and the local community. He's usually there to greet you when you check in, is a great conversationalist, and has plenty of recommendations for places to eat and things to do around town. The hotel rooms are huge and well appointed, with lush... More
