we had a delightful 3 night stay at casa hamaca. denis larsen was a font of advice and information, in addition to being welcoming and friendly. he's probably the most extraverted person we've ever met--perfect for an innkeeper. he was also kind enough to provide advice and information even before we got there. staff were also warm and friendly. the... Casa Hamaca was by far our favourite place to stay while in Yucatan. The staff are excellent, the owner is helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, the food is great (huge portions) and the surroundings are beautiful. Very highly recommended.

We stayed here for several nights as part of our honeymoon trip around the Yucatan and it was definitely amongst the best accomodation we had. Dennis (the owner) is extremely friendly and even invited us to join him on his weekly market run and introduced us to his favourite local breakfast spot - an unexpected and much appreciated bonus!

My husband, three daughters and I stayed at Casa Hamaca for three nights this past month, and what a perfect stay it was. The lodgings were just what we hoped for from all the stellar reviews. My husband and I stayed in the spacious Stone Room and the girls were in the Earth Suite, where my youngest elected to sleep... More

This place is really special. It's owned by an American retiree(?) that is really active with volunteering and the local community. He's usually there to greet you when you check in, is a great conversationalist, and has plenty of recommendations for places to eat and things to do around town. The hotel rooms are huge and well appointed, with lush... More

We booked to stay at Casa Hamaca for one night only as a stop between Tulum and Chechen Itza but with hindsight we would've loved to have stayed longer. We were in the Red room which was spacious, spotless, well appointed (with hammock!)had a lovely bathroom with toiletries, a huge very comfortable bed and interesting Mexican decor. The children had... More

Casa Hamaca is a gem. The home and surrounding gardens are lovely. The entire staff is friendly and very helpful. Denis was very helpful with restaurant and sightseeing suggestions and even went out of his way to arrange travel for us to Ek Balam. Our room, the Red Room, was comfortable and meticulously clean as was the rest of the... More

Our stay at Casa Hamaca was 10 days of perfection! Casa Hamaca became our "home away from home" while exploring the wonders of the various Mayan ruins as well as being able to relax and enjoy the beautiful city of Valladolid. It is in a perfect location for getting to Ek' Balam, Chichen Itza and Tulum early in the day... More
