This is a truly excellent hotel situated right in the centre of Valladolid and easy to find with ample free parking. The grounds are beautiful; jungle-like and an attraction in themselves! Rooms are in a lovely but simple style decorated with local artefacts and handicrafts. Beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are functional with good hot water. A/C worked perfectly... More

Casa Hamaca was about as good as I could ask for. As soon as I pulled in our bags were carried into our room, the bag boy knew who I was (must have been the only people checking in that day). The grounds/garden are beautiful. The dining area is as well, since it's overlooking them. The room was very nice,... More

Wonderful stay in Valladolid! We really enjoyed Denis and his staff. My daughter and I also were able to participate in the local school providing service together. Denis was very helpful in setting up the service and was one of the highlights of our visit. He gave great recommendations for food and activities as well. The comfort level we had... More

We were heading Merida and wanted to break up the trip and see Valladolid. My husband learned that the owner of Casa Hamaca had lived on Isla several years ago and came highly recommended by some of our friends. We arrived and were kindly greeted by staff. Our room was large, very clean, with a king size bed and an... More

This was our second stay at Casa Hamaca after such great memories from seven years ago. Peaceful, beautiful guest house in a lovely garden, just a few minutes walk from the main towns plaza. The owner Dennis made us feel so welcome once again, it was so interesting to hear about the Maya culture and to receive tips and ideas... More

I highly recommend this 8 room guest house, full of comforts, culture, remarkable jungle garden, , great owner, and friendly wonderful staff. Reasonable too. That sums it up. Below is more detail for those interested in helpful traveling info. We stayed in the Tree & Earth Suites, both wonderfully unique in the wall murals, furnishings and had much welcomed quiet... Several years ago my wife and I spent a couple of nights in Valladolid almost as an after thought as it was between Uxmal and Tulum...but we were pleasantly surprised at how much we liked the town and its proximity to many wonderful things - like Ek Balam and Chitzen Itza. We knew that we would return. This time we... More

My wife and our two kids spent two nights at Casa Hamaca while touring through Yucatan. It was wonderful, and if I could give >5 stars I would. Valladolid is a nice little city. The location is excellent for the centre (5-7 mins walk), and is also tranquil. Denis and the team were the epitome of authentic warm hospitality. Lots... More

Myself and my Partner recently travelled around the Yucatan, on a friends' recommendation we incorporated a visit to the city of Valladolid into our itinerary and stayed 2 x nights at this wonderful guest house. Once booked we received a PDF guide to the city via e-mail, a really nice touch, from Denis our host, which made our arrival, despite... More

Our recent stay at Casa Hamaca was once again wonderful. The addition to Xoco Loco restaurant is amazing. The waitstaff and chefs, including Jose, Fatima, Hector, Mariano and Luis were attentive and the meals were superb. Visiting with other other guests over breakfast and drinks in the evening is always a highlight. we always looked forward to Karina's smile at... More
