Casa Hamaca is the perfect location to get away but still be only 5 blocks for the city center. Denis and staff as super welcoming from arrival to departure. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent for either dinner or breakfast. Highly recommend to stay in Valladolid as it is a quaint town close to Chichen Itza.

Casa Hamaca Guesthouse is a gem that keeps surprising. The first was it's quiet location in the bustling city of Valladolid. Then the tropical garden; the large, open porches; the native decor and artifacts; the large, comfortable rooms; the delicious breakfasts - all this added to its charm and the feeling of really being on vacation. Our host Denis Larsen... More

The guest house really feels like a guest house because Denis and the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming. And Denis loves Mayan history and knows a lot about it and has many books and artifacts to look at. The rooms and beds are big and comfortable. Their location is right on a small plaza (where we enjoyed a great... More

We entered through a lush green garden. Our room and bathroom were spacious. The delicious breakfast was served on a covered terrace off the front porch. Casa Hamaca has the feel of a B&B: Denis and his staff are very welcoming, and Denis spent time talking with us. I was most impressed with his extensive knowledge of Valladolid history and... More

My husband and I stayed at Casa Hamaca in mid February 2015 with 4 other friends. The food was great, the host and staff were even better! Very comfortable, clean, and so much hospitality, we really felt like guests, not just patrons. I would highly recommend Denis's B & B. Also, the dispensa was a truly memorable activity that I... Wee just spent 4 days at Casa Hamaca on our first visit to Valladolid. It was a perfect traveling experience - simple but large and comfortable rooms, a terrific bed , an equipped bathroom, gorgeous grounds with a cool and refreshing plunge pool, a lovely spot to eat delicious breakfasts. Better than all of this is the ambiance provided by... More

I had a pretty serious accident while in Mexico and had to keep cancelling and rebooking. Dennis was so very accommodating and even upgraded us when we finally got there. I would go back in a minute. The entire staff is delightful. I am a seasoned traveler and I really have never seen such wonderful caring service. Everyone just seems... More

This was our fourth visit to Casa Hamaca in as many years. I guess that says it all. Denis and his staff have become like family to us, and so we will continue to return to this idyllic place in the middle of paradise. Where we thought there was no more room for improvement, Denis has accentuated the restaurant and... More

At the end of January 2015, we stayed here for three days in our third visit to this charming place. The grounds and building are beautiful, with lovely accommodations and great service. A new addition for us was the restaurant that served us a lovely meal upon our late arrival in Valladolid. The drinks and food were great. Dennis Larson,... More

This was our 15th trip to Mexico. Last year we stopped on a bus tour to Valladolid for maybe 1/2 hour and knew we had to come back. There are so many wow factors to Mexico 1 chapter would only give a list. History, culture, Beaches. But almost without exception the 1 response is....The People. Denis is no exception. This...
